War, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, emerged as the highest grosser of 2019 after making a record opening weekend collection of Rs. 166.25 cr, significantly more than the Salman Khan–starrer Bharat that made Rs. 150.10 cr. Comparatively, War earned more than other releases this year like Mission Mangal (Rs. 97.56 cr), Saaho (Rs. 79.08 cr), Kesari (Rs. 78.07 cr), Kabir Singh (Rs 70.83 cr), Kalank (Rs 62.75 cr), Total Dhamaal (Rs 62.40cr), Super 30 (Rs 50.76 cr) and Dream Girl (Rs 44.57 cr).
Currently, War still runs in theatres, with certain locations increasing the number of shows. Given this trend and the fact that the film enjoys an unopposed run at the box office over the next week trade expectation are that the business of War will cross the Rs. 200 cr mark in the next few days.
