War has done it! On Tuesday, the Sidharth Anand directed movie collected an additional Rs. 4.20 crores at the box office which pushed its total earnings to Rs. 280.60 crores – that’s more than Shahid Kapoor–starrer Kabir Singh (Rs. 278.24 crores), which was hitherto the highest grossing film of 2019!
Hrithik Roshan and Shahid Kapoor, who have both long been esteemed for their reliability as actors, are continuing to rack up a phenomenal box office haul. By the close of the coming weekend, it is expected that their latest joint effort will catapult them into the prestigious Rs. 300 Crore Club. The newest addition to Bollywood’s marquee names, Tiger Shroff, has only been active in the industry for five years and already his seventh film has made him one of its major successes; soon he’ll be making history as the youngest ever actor to join this exclusive club.
War will have an undisrupted screening until Diwali, when Housefull 4 hits the theaters. Afterwards, it will be intriguing to witness if either of them or even both films will manage to stand up to War and replace it as the highest grossing movie of 2019.
