The Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani starrer, Jugjugg Jeeyo, experienced a notable rise of 27% to 30% on the second Sunday of its release, collecting an estimated Rs. 6.05 to 6.20 crore. As a result, the 10 day total of the family dramedy stands at Rs. 67.50 crores. Interestingly, there was a huge 100% increase from Friday to Sunday, with the movie accumulating Rs. 3.03 crore on Friday, Rs. 4.75 crore on Saturday, and Rs. 6.10 crore on Sunday – an impressive growth which contributed to its successful second weekend.
Despite having a promising start, the box office collections in the second week of its release have established Jugjugg Jeeyo as a successful venture. Even though it is too early to make a judgement, the film is on track to become an above average grosser. As per Bollywood Hungama’s prediction, it is estimated that Jugjugg Jeeyo could end up collecting somewhere between Rs. 81 and 86 crore in its lifetime run.
The business is dominated by two cities – Mumbai and Delhi – though even Ahmedabad and Chennai are recording good footfalls in the second weekend. The second weekend business of Jugjugg Jeeyo is Rs. 13.87 crore, which is more than the first weekend business of some big films like Radhe Shyam, Jersey, Runway 34 and Jayeshbhai Jordaar to name some.
While the critical reception for Jugjugg Jeeyo is not widespread, it has been accepted by the high–end movie–goers who have come out over the weekend to watch the family drama which offers a unique blend of comedy. After two weeks in theatres, the movie has earned a box–office collection of Rs. 73 crores. The growth of Jugjugg Jeeyo in its third weekend will be key in determining whether the movie will reach its goal of Rs. 90 crore. Moreover, the overseas business of the movie will be the proverbial cherry on top.
