On Monday, JugJugg Jeeyo witnessed an impressive total collection of Rs. 4.82 crores, taking its total collection to Rs. 41.93 crores. Despite its potential, the film failed to collect the anticipated additional crore. The weekend brought in significant growth with the Saturday and Sunday collections being quite impressive.
It has become apparent that the box office is undergoing a transition period, and except for a couple of movies that had a much better turnout on Mondays, most of them have drastically fallen in the range of 70%-80%. This is primarily the case of movies that had low openings of around Rs. 2-3 crores, and a few that had double-digit openings but did not attract enough audiences on Mondays. Comparatively, Karan Johar’s production at least had momentum on its side throughout the weekend. Though it is not the usual pattern for a successful film to follow post-pandemic, it is certainly much better than the other releases.
The fate of the much-anticipated film, helmed by Raj Mehta and starring Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Neetu Kapoor and Kiara Advani, will be decided in the next few days from today till Thursday. If it can reach the respectable mark of Rs. 75 crores, it would be an incredible accomplishment. Everything points towards that mark being achievable.
