Reports circulated that Akshay Kumar’s latest film, Bellbottom, was scheduled to be released abroad this Friday (1 day after its debut in India) before censors could approve or ban it. But luckily, just as they were set to release it globally on Saturday, it was ultimately permitted for audiences around the U.A.E region despite many initial complaints.
Finally screened across 65 screens here over a two-day weekend period after releases elsewhere failed to materialize (4 screen averages per session), the movie reportedly grossed about $2 million USD (~ Rs 28 crore). All this while it remains banned from several other regions around the globe such as GCC Countries.
