त्रिनेत्र गणेश मंदिर, रणथंभौर
यह मंदिर भारत के राजस्थान प्रांत में सवाई माधोपुर जिले में स्थित है, जो कि विश्व धरोहर में शामिल रणथंभोर दुर्ग के भीतर बना हुआ है। अरावली और विन्ध्याचल पहाड़ियों के बीच स्थित रणथम्भौर दुर्ग में विराजे रणतभंवर के लाड़ले त्रिनेत्र गणेश के मेले की बात ही कुछ निराली है। यह मंदिर प्रकृति व आस्था का अनूठा संगम है। भारत के कोने-कोने से लाखों की तादाद में दर्शनार्थी यहाँ पर भगवान त्रिनेत्र गणेश जी के दर्शन हेतु आते हैं और कई मनौतियां माँगते हैं, जिन्हें भगवान त्रिनेत्र गणेश पूरी करते हैं। इस गणेश मंदिर का निर्माण महाराजा हम्मीरदेव चौहान ने करवाया था लेकिन मंदिर के अंदर भगवान गणेश की प्रतिमा स्वयंभू है। इस मंदिर में भगवान गणेश त्रिनेत्र रूप में विराजमान है जिसमें तीसरा नेत्र ज्ञान का प्रतीक माना जाता है। पूरी दुनिया में यह एक ही मंदिर है जहाँ भगवान गणेश जी अपने पूर्ण परिवार, दो पत्नी- रिद्दि और सिद्दि एवं दो पुत्र- शुभ और लाभ, के साथ विराजमान है। भारत में चार स्वयंभू गणेश मंदिर माने जाते है, जिनमें रणथम्भौर स्थित त्रिनेत्र गणेश जी प्रथम है। इस मंदिर के अलावा सिद्दपुर गणेश मंदिर गुजरात, अवंतिका गणेश मंदिर उज्जैन एवं सिद्दपुर सिहोर मंदिर मध्यप्रदेश में स्थित है। कहाँ जाता है कि महाराजा विक्रमादित्य जिन्होंने विक्रम संवत् की गणना शुरू की प्रत्येक बुधवार उज्जैन से चलकर रणथम्भौर स्थित त्रिनेत्र गणेश जी के दर्शन हेतु नियमित जाते थे, उन्होंने ही उन्हें स्वप्न दर्शन दे सिद्दपुर सीहोर के गणेश जी की स्थापना करवायी थी।

मंदिर का इतिहास
महाराजा हम्मीरदेव चौहान व दिल्ली शासक अलाउद्दीन खिलजी का युद्ध 1299-1301 ईस्वी के बीच रणथम्भौर हुआ। उस समय अलाउद्दीन खिलजी ने रणथम्भौर के दुर्ग को चारों तरफ से घेर लिया था, नौ माह से भी अधिक रणथम्भौर दुर्ग चारों तरफ से मुगल सेना से घिरा हुआ होने के कारण रणथम्भौर दुर्ग में रसद सामग्री शन: शन: खत्म होने लगी, उस समय महाराजा हम्मीरदेव चौहान को स्वप्न में गणेश जी के दर्शन हुए। राजा हम्मीरदेव ने गणेश की मूर्ति की पूजा की। किंवदंती के अनुसार भगवान राम ने जिस स्वयंभू मूर्ति की पूजा की थी उसी मूर्ति को हम्मीरदेव ने यहाँ पर प्रकट किया।
भगवान राम ने लंका कूच करते समय इसी गणेश का अभिषेक कर पूजन किया था। अत: त्रेतायुग में यह प्रतिमा रणथम्भौर में स्वयंभू रूप में स्थापित हुई और लुप्त हो गई।
एक और मान्यता के अनुसार जब द्वापर युग में भगवान कृष्ण का विवाह रूकमणी से हुआ था तब भगवान कृष्ण गलती से गणेश जी को बुलाना भूल गए जिससे भगवान गणेश नाराज हो गए और अपने मूषक को आदेश दिया की विशाल चूहों की सेना के साथ जाओं और कृष्ण के रथ के आगे सम्पूर्ण धरती में बिल खोद डालो। इस प्रकार भगवान कृष्ण का रथ धरती में धँस गया और आगे नहीं बढ़ पाये। मूषकों के बताने पर भगवान श्रीकृष्ण को अपनी गलती का अहसास हुआ और रणथम्भौर स्थित जगह पर गणेश को लेने वापस आए, तब जाकर कृष्ण का विवाह सम्पन्न हुआ। तब से भगवान गणेश को विवाह व मांगलिक कार्यों में प्रथम आमंत्रित किया जाता है। यही कारण है कि रणथम्भौर गणेश को भारत का प्रथम गणेश कहते है।

तीसरे नेत्र की मान्यता
रणथम्भौर स्थित त्रिनेत्र गणेश जी दुनिया के एक मात्र गणेश है जो तीसरा नयन धारण करते है। गजवंदनम् चितयम् में विनायक के तीसरे नेत्र का वर्णन किया गया है, लोक मान्यता है कि भगवान शिव ने अपना तीसरा नेत्र उत्तराधिकारी स्वरूप सौम पुत्र गणपति को सौंप दिया था और इस तरह महादेव की सारी शक्तियाँ गजानन में निहित हो गई। महागणपति षोड्श स्त्रौतमाला में विनायक के सौलह विग्रह स्वरूपों का वर्णन है। महागणपति अत्यंत विशिष्ट व भव्य है जो त्रिनेत्र धारण करते है, इस प्रकार ये माना जाता है कि रणथम्भौर के रणतभंवर महागणपति का ही स्वरूप है।

भगवान गणेश का शृंगार
रणथम्भौर दुर्ग में स्थित भगवान त्रिनेत्र गणेश का शृंगार भी विशिष्ट प्रकार से किया जाता है। भगवान गणेश का शृंगार सामान्य दिनों में चाँदी के वरक से किया जाता है, लेकिन गणेश चतुर्थी पर भगवान का शृंगार स्वर्ण के वरक से होता है, यह वरक मुम्बई से मंगवाया जाता है। कई घंटे तक विधि-विधान से भगवान का अभिषेक किया जाता है वही भगवान त्रिनेत्र गणेश जी की पोशाक जयपुर में तैयार करवायी जाती है। भगवान गणेश की झाँकी पर महाआरती मे दुर्ग परिसर में उगी घास की सफेद सीखियों को काम में लिया जाता है, इन सीखियों पर रूई (कपास) लपेट कर व घी में डुबोकर आरती की जाती है।

History of temple
The war between Maharaja Hammirdev Chauhan and Delhi ruler Alauddin Khilji took place in Ranthambore between 1299-1301 AD. At that time, Alauddin Khilji had surrounded the fort of Ranthambore from all sides, due to the Ranthambore fort being surrounded by the Mughal army from all sides for more than nine months, the logistics material started running out in the Ranthambore fort, at that time the Maharaja Hammirdev Chauhan saw Lord Ganesha in his dream. King Hammirdev worshiped the idol of Ganesha. According to legend, the self-manifested idol worshiped by Lord Rama was manifested here by Hammirdev.
Lord Rama had anointed and worshiped this Ganesha while traveling to Lanka . Hence TretayugaThis idol was established in Ranthambore in self-manifested form and disappeared.
According to another belief, when Lord Krishna was married to Rukmani in the Dwapara Yuga , Lord Krishna by mistake forgot to call Ganesha, which enraged Lord Ganesha and ordered his mouse , Mooshak, with an army of giant rats. Go and dig holes in the whole earth in front of Krishna’s chariot. In this way Lord Krishna’s chariot sank into the earth and could not move forward. Lord Krishna realized his mistake on being told by the rats and came back to pick up Ganesha at Ranthambore, only then the marriage of Krishna was completed. Since then Lord Ganesha is invited first in marriages and auspicious functions. This is the reason why Ranthambore Ganesha is called the first Ganesha of India.

Recognition of the third eye
Trinetra Ganesha located in Ranthambore is the only Ganesha in the world who wears the third eye. Vinayaka’s third eye is described in Gajavandanam Chityam , folk belief that Lord Shiva handed over his third eye to Soum’s son Ganapati as his successor and thus all the powers of Mahadev got vested in Gajanan. Sixteen Deity forms of Vinayaka are described in Mahaganapati Shodsha Strautmala . Mahaganapati is very special and grand who wears Trinetra, in this way it is believed that Ranthambore’s Rantbhanwar is the form of Mahaganapati.

Lord Trinetra Ganesha located in Ranthambore fort is also decorated in a special way. Lord Ganesha’s adornment is done with silver varak on normal days , but on Ganesh Chaturthi God’s adornment is done with golden varak, this varak is imported from Mumbai . God is anointed for many hours by rituals, while the dress of Lord Trinetra Ganesh ji is prepared in Jaipur. In Maha Aarti on the tableau of Lord Ganesha, the white sikhs of grass grown in the fort premises are used, Aarti is performed by wrapping cotton (cotton) on these sikhs and dipping them in ghee .
