New life and rebirth have taken a hold in my community after the uplifting ban that was put into effect prohibiting people from attending movies. This week, I am so excited to share with you all of the huge success stories we’ve had such as Vivek Agnihotri’s newest release The Kashmir Files – already making waves for itself; overtaking the top three spots for the highest grossing movies for last quarter: Padmaavat (200 crore), Singham Returns (180 crore), and 3 Idiots ($35 million).
Now let me tell you about how Alia Bhatt broke another record this week. Her new film Gangubai Kathiawadi set her apart again by joining her previous three films in crossing over $100 million which are – Udta Punjab ($32 million) Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (26 crore) and Jazbaa ($2 million). These accomplishments just show what can happen when anyone comes together united without fear or doubt!

Industry insiders are rejoicing at the success of this up-and-coming movie. It seems like Gangubai Kathiawadi was just what movies needed to get back on track after three months straight of bad films! And now, The Kashmir Files is carrying that good feeling even further – in an unprecedented way! Industry analysts predict that it will rake in huge numbers during its opening weekend, but they were taken aback when they found out how much money it made on its first day. They thought maybe its end-of-the-year tally would match this staggering number… so imagine their surprise when they realized how wrong they were; because the current record holder actually only beat out this release by 10%!

The Kashmir Files Box Office: Ranks as 20th All-Time highest first Monday grosser; beats Padmaavat, Singham Returns, Sooryavanshi, and 3 Idiots
The film The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri which premiered Friday night was received well with audiences coming out in droves to support the film. Although it only featured six hundred and fifty screens at the beginning of its run, due to demand from audiences more were added resulting in a total of seven hundred and thirty-six screens being used for this film. With the increase in the number of screenings plus change in scheduling – each day had four showings instead of two – helped rake in Rs 27.5 crores for just one weekend. The anticipation of the future for Bollywood couldn’t be higher. With recent films like Gangubai Kathiawadi and The Kashmir Files paving the way for a new era, there are high hopes that this industry will rise back up to its former glory – though even these films don’t beat out the records set by previous classics. Look at what Monday alone has done; Rs. 15.05 crores collected in just one day, something no other film has ever achieved before! Many believed they would never achieve anything close to what they’re seeing now – which leads me to believe they’ll continue breaking records time after time without fail.
