Everyone probably has at least one good friend whom you have met at a turning point in your life, marveled at how different or similar they were, and had many unremarkable but memorable moments. For example, after watching some friendship movies like Green Book, you will miss your good friends more.
We may want to feel empathy from others, like the understanding and encouragement in the movie 21 Jump Street. A genuine good friend will come forward when you are lonely and give you a strong hug from his heart. Very few people in this world can take care of your emotions.
Morton Schmidt and Greg Jenko are once again classmates at the police academy, helping each other graduate and become good partners. They later joined the undercover narcotics group 21 Jump Street. Their mission is to return to the high school to go undercover and find the man who supplied the drugs to the students. We all believe many friends surround us, but what is a friend? Its concept has never been deeply explored. This movie makes us understand that friends are precious.
These movies like 21 Jump Street have had a combined effect on me. It makes me unconsciously consider the impact of my behavior on my friends. Although I am only a minor member of this world, I also hope that some of my behaviors can positively affect my friends.
1. The Kite Runner
The story takes place in Afghanistan, revolves around two Afghan teenagers and kites, and tells about the betrayal and redemption of human nature. Amir, a 12-year-old young Afghan from a wealthy family, has a good relationship with his servant Hassan. However, a tragic incident occurred after a kite race, and Amir forced Hassan away. Soon after, he followed his father to the United States. As an adult, Amir never forgave himself for betraying Hassan. To atone, he returned to his hometown again, hoping to make the last bit of effort for his unfortunate friend, but found a shocking lie. What is friendship? What is commitment? This movie will give us the answer.
2. Green Book
Tony is a deadbeat who has lost his financial resources because the club is closing for a few months, and he desperately needs to find a job to pay his rent and support his daily life. At this time, a black doctor of music was recruiting drivers to take care of his southern tour. Although Tony knew they could quickly get into trouble these segregated days, he took the job for the money. Along the way, the two people had contradictions because of their different personalities; Tony also hated racial segregation because of his personal experience of the unfair treatment of the Doctors in the South. He also gradually admired Doctor and encouraged Doctor to fight against racial segregation actively, and the two people of different races thus established a deep friendship.
3. Good Will Hunting
Will, who works as a janitor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has twice solved a puzzle that math professor Jero revealed in class. But Will was facing jail for fighting, and Jero didn’t want a boy with such talent to end up there. He would like the court to put forward bail and asked university classmates and friends of psychology professor Sean to help Will do psychological counseling to help Will break through the heart disease.
It is often said that the purest friendship in the world exists only in childhood. This is an unfortunate statement; there are so many people in favor of life’s loneliness and hardship, you can imagine. I can’t entirely agree with that. Childhood friendship is only a pleasant play, and what adults add to it by memory is unreal. The true meaning of a friendship comes after adulthood, and it can only be at its best once it has gained importance. After watching these movies to watch like 21 Jump Street, I can’t help but think of my best friend. Hope you can enjoy these touching movies similar to Green Book.
