Names are the first identity of individuals because persons are initially recognized by their names.  Naming shape their personalities, characters, behaviors, and perceptions. An individual’s name shows the family background and history and their religious as well as cultural affiliations. Good names are strong tags that provide positive vibes to others. The 99 names of allah in arabic (Asma ul Husnaa) show positive meanings because Allah Almighty likes beautiful names. Therefore, assign your children a good name because it shapes others’ perceptions. The discussion provides details on how names influence the identity and perception of individuals.

    Naming Power:

After the birth of any person, their name becomes a necessary part of their life. Parents spend a lot of time picking a perfect name according to their religion, family, culture, and values.A name is essential for a person because it sets the stage for the individual’s life.

Psychologists say that names have a huge impact in influencing, character development, personality, and self-perception. A name can be considered an architect because it constructs the foundation of a person. Research suggests that the name has its traits. For example, A person named Joy may be more simple in nature and likes more positivity.

    Identity Formation:

Names reflect religion, culture, and as well as familial ties. Mostly in every culture the name does not deviate from their traditions or religious significance, and their roots. Whereas some individual names deviate from their traditions because of their desire for self-expression and autonomy.

During the formative years, the individual’s name is pronounced particularly. Children shape their aspirations and self-concept by internalizing social perceptions of their names. Names can even challenge social expectations by playing a vital role in building the individual’s identity.

    Impression of Names:

Our names leave an impression on other people’s minds. This impression may be good or bad it depends upon the nature of people and also a selection of baby names. For example, 99 names of Allah in Arabic have beautiful meanings, and Muslims give these beautiful names to their children. Sometimes when a rare name is used it leads to confusion or a challenge.

    Biases:

As usual, people make judgments about others due to their names and are called as bias. This happens when we already have made an image of the other person. According to Psychology people with certain names often find it hard to get jobs or even be treated with equality only due to biases.

    The Significance of Perception:

Our way of naming things reflects our personalities and how we see our own, it also affects how others see us. Names help people make fast decisions and judge our nature using standards linked to certain names. According to studies some people face issues or inequity in job hunting or education whose names are linked to a specific cultural background. This shows the level of impact of names on how society judges us.

Sometimes, people’s names are hidden discrimination and they don’t even know which can create issues in society for them. Unjust judgments and insensible ideas may come up because of someone’s name, like thinking about their gender, wealth, and race or origin. These biases can cause unfairness in professional life or getting good grades in school and interacting with others.

    Cultural and Gender Interactions:

Naming things is deeply linked with cultural background and how people see males and females. In some regions, name-changing can be a critical step in our lives as it relates to our personal growth to the present. Names linked to a girl or a boy also have a connection with what people want or look forward to from you. For instance, how you react to something or capabilities. Nowadays the concept of gender is changing, as some people who are not fully classified as a man or a woman usually pick names that align with who they are. This defies old ideas and makes us examine what names recognize or represent.

    Understanding the Name Game:

Names are powerful tools that shape individuals’ personalities. People always judge other’s personalities according to their names. The individual’s good name makes society fair and inclusive. Good names make them more broad-minded and constructive. Therefore, a fair society provides equal chances and opportunities for everyone to grow. No one gets hurt by facing inferiority complexes in society. So, a good and positive name leaves a positive impact on society and also globally.

    Conclusion:

Names have great impacts on not only an individual’s life but also on society. Naming your child is not an easy task. It is a complicated process because a person’s whole life depends upon their name. Names build everyone’s personality, and character, as well as the power of perception. Families picking the names align with their cultural, religious, and traditional considerations. Suppose, Muslim families feel proud to name their child after the 99 names of Allah in Arabic. Therefore, the child has strong affiliations with their forefathers, culture, religion, and family members.
