It results in speed up the fourth industrial revolution. This combined power of AL and IoT is bringing a significant change in shaping traditional manufacturing processes. It enhances efficacy and it revolutionizes the supply chain management. This article focuses on AI in manufacturing, IOT in manufacturing, combination of AI and IoT, predictive maintenance, optimization and supply chain management with relevant examples and a case study.

    AI in Manufacturing:

    Like other methods, Artificial Intelligence (AI) in industrial sector make use of high-power algorithms and machine learning techniques for the data analysis, it also helps to make predictions on manufacturing methods, on the other hand it neutralises the processes which are being involved. AI helps in quality assurance, it has a control in quality and it also has the ability to get real-time data results to make changes and avoid faults. AI helps to identify the issues and problems regarding the data.

    IoT in Manufacturing:

    Now manufacturing is not just limited to AI as machine language but also IoT which is Internet of Things. IoT is the network in which the devices are linked to each other for the data exchange and communication of one another. These devices are designed in a way that they consist of machinery and other sensors which help in manufacturing processes. These devices help to get real-time data collection and the sensors helps to give the deeper information which can’t the seen through human eye related to the productions, environmental factors and how well the equipment’s are working.

    When AI and IoT combines with each other they make a powerful impact in manufacturing industry. Not only this but they together bring advantages in the production of data. The data which is present in the IoT is analysed by the AI algorithm which ultimately provides insight which are important to be noted. The synergy between AI and IoT is so strong that it plays a role of beneficial partnership that gives ability to manufacturers to neutralise the process schemes, enhance efficiency and avoid breakdown of equipment.

    Predictive Maintenance:

    As discussed above, the synergy between AI and IoT brings advantages. Predictive maintenance is one of the advantages which plays a role in manufacturing in industry. Again, the IoT data is analysed by AI algorithms to predict when the equipment is going to break. This is because it has an ability to predict what is going to happen. The combination of AI and IoT is powerful that it enhances the maintenance and it also saves the cost. It results in efficiency and precision.

    Another benefit which comes with the help of synergy between AI and IoT is product optimization. As we know that AI is capable of everything almost, in manufacturing AI algorithms are capable of identifying streamlining processes and optimising the data which is provided by the IoT devices. This plays a role of catalyst in manufacturing operations to enhance the efficacy and avoid the chances of waste.

    Supply Chain Management:

    Supply chain management is also involving AI and IoT. They are not just limited to the shop floors but also in online shipments. AI and IoT devices keep an eye on the shipments and manufacturers also manage the logistics systems. They also improve the service by utilising the real-time data through IoT. Then they are being analysed by the AI algorithms to check the demand, enhance efficiency and improve the supply chain management.

    The practical example of predictive maintenance can be seen in automotive manufacturing. AI algorithms and IoT devices are being utilised in the automotive industry in which the data from IoT devices are placed in the cars and other related machinery. These devices have sensors which helps in emergency situations because they optimise the temperature or vibration. Not only this but these sensors have significant impact in the engine performance. Before any breakdown of equipment happens, manufacturers can schedule the maintenance by using the AI algorithm. It helps to satisfy the customer happiness and the performance of overall vehicle.
