The collections for Thank God was below expectations after the film opened at below par numbers. On Day 2, it collected around Rs.5.75 to 6.35 crore which made its 2-day total be about RS 14.25 crores – far less than what most people anticipated for this Diwali release starring Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra, and Rakul Preet Singh.
After a disappointing beginning, the hope remained alive; at least for one more day to put up respectable numbers in the long run. But this sudden downturn has just set all hopes aside until and unless it miraculously turns things around within these next couple of days. Total revenues are expected to be about Rs 75 crore when we consider its sales so far – which is an acceptable total considering its performance. What is most shocking, however, is that in spite of having been released heavily across comedy friendly regions like Gujarat and Rajasthan where audiences have a natural propensity towards comedies over anything else they’re interested in – Thank God has still failed to gather any attention here either.
