After such a large celebration of Diwali, we all need time to recover from the festive fervor. But so far it seems that no one is taking advantage of these days off. Collections still seem down on this day and we can only hope they’ll pick up after Christmas. One thing is certain though: people will always want movies! Both Ram Setu and Thank God saw good numbers yesterday – even if they weren’t the best out of all days – but things might change tomorrow once people start going back to work.
Ram Setu had an opening day collection of Rs. 15.25 crores and in just one night made up for its drop from the first day with a haul of Rs. 11.40 crores, bringing it back up to just shy of 13 crores on Sunday. There is no doubt that this film is doing well considering these numbers (at least according to industry standards), but if Ram setu wants to keep going strong, there can’t be much more fall than what’s already been seen so far – about Rs. 8-9 crore less than what we’re looking at right now; because anything below 10 crore won’t make Ram setu qualify as a double digit success story either way you slice it (an amount which currently only stands at roughly RS 26.6 crore).
On the other hand, Thank God has collected Rs. 14.10 crores so far. The film took a good opening of Rs. 8.10 crores when we were expecting at least a double digit score from the Indra Kumar-directed film. Still, it was decent enough and on Wednesday one could hope for numbers around Rs. 6 crores which would signify better holding power to come in instead today – thanksfully they did! Now let’s see how much more money this Ajay Devgn-Sidharth Malhotra starrer will make before the end of day 4 with its current tally sitting at just below Rs 17 crores.
