It was a solid Sunday for Street Dancer 3D as it brought in 17.76 crore rupees. The collections have been steady, which will hopefully continue to bolster the Remo D’Souza-directed film all the way through the week. It may not have had much of an advantage had Republic Day come on any other day; but its success thus far cannot be ignored no matter what day.
So far, the collections of the Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Prabhu Dheva and Nora Fatehi starrer stand at Rs. 41.23 crores. After opening up at Rs. 10.26 crores (10 million) they’ve surpassed the Rs. 40 crores mark after three days which provides a testimony that people seem to enjoy what they have seen so far – just that they also have two other options available such as Tanhaji- The Unsung Warrior and Panga which lead to Rs. 10 crore less being earned during this weekends box office earnings than what would be expected if there was only one option for them to watch instead of three different ones in total.
It is expected that the film will be a success, but we won’t know until we see how well it does. Next few days will decide Street Dancers’ fate because Jawani Janeman comes out this Friday; if the new movie takes up space on screens from my film then my movie will suffer.
