Tom Holland and Zendaya starring Spider-Man: No Way Home has been creating buzz in the Indian market with its advanced booking opening last Sunday. With such high demand for tickets, Sony Pictures Entertainment India and theatres across India opened pre-sales on Sunday December 12th to accommodate all those who wish to purchase them early. So far, it looks as though this move paid off because if things keep up – we might just be breaking post- pandemic box office records! The film will open nationwide on December 16th but some theatres are already taking reservations as early as 4am in Mumbai and 5am in neighbouring Thane city of Maharashtra – where you can’t miss out!
Shows in Mumbai start as early as 4.15 am and cinemas are almost always full. Tickets at PVR Lower Parel are priced from Rs. 1570 to Rs. 2570 for the 4:15 AM show, 3D Prime, or 3D recliners section respectively; this does not take into account this record-breaking blockbuster’s hype and popularity which doesn’t even stop movie goers from going through great lengths to see it when all they would need is some spare time or extra cash!
The Tom Holland starrer has already set records of its own with unprecedented advance bookings throughout India since April 2019 – surpassing giants like Baahubali 2, Avengers: End Game, Sultan, or War which came out last year within a week of Spiderman’s release date.
Sales for Spider-Man are going strong in many parts of the country, including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and southern states such as Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Advance booking for the movie has been met with high demand since its release date was announced. Tickets have been sold out in some locations; however there have also been online reports about servers crashing because of heavy traffic to different sites for bookings.
Spider-Man: No Way Home has been produced by Marvel Studios and Columbia Pictures (a subsidiary of Sony Pictures) for its theatrical debut. The movie stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May. There are rumours that Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield – actors who’ve starred in previous Spiderman films – will join Tom Holland in the movie alongside various other A-list celebrities.
