One day at a time, exhibitors are surely busy saying to themselves. They’ve seen promising numbers from their Sunday business, but there is always an expectation of more. And when they think about it–except for the Diwali Sunday when Sooryavanshi and Annathhe had great collections–and the last weekend where Spider-Man: No Way Home and Pushpa wreaked havoc, not much has happened this year till now.
Spider-Man: No Way Home maintained theatre audiences in its second weekend by bringing in an additional Rs. 10 crore on Sunday, contributing to its Friday and Saturday numbers which peg it’s second weekend earnings at Rs. 26.85 crore. Current calculations estimate the film will surpass the 200 crore mark soon enough; with current totals standing at 174.92 crores already.
While Spider-Man: No Way Home has managed to win over some of the audience that went to see Pushpa: The Rise and 83, it will be important how well it does this weekend when they face off against each other again. Estimates predict Spider-Man might suffer a loss in profits as people decide who gets their money this time around.
