The performance of The Sky Is Pink at the box office on Wednesday was less than stellar as it earned only Rs. 1 crore*. To make any profit, the film would have needed to secure a steady average of over Rs. 2 crores every weekday, but sadly this was not achieved as there has been an ongoing decline in earnings since its already meagre launch.
The film has reached Rs. 14.25 crores* by the end of its first week, likely hitting Rs. 15 crores in total – far below expectations, considering it began with only Rs. 2.50 crores. Unfortunately, the slow rate of growth could mean that the film won’t be able to sustain its box office success.
As Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar look ahead to their next projects, anticipation grows. Farhan is gearing up for Toofan with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra while Priyanka, an immensely popular actress since 2005, is poised to reach out to a wider audience through her mainstream Bollywood ventures. With over a decade–and–a–half of fame and acclaim under her belt, the multi–talented star surely deserves it!
