श्री कृष्ण और सुदामा की कथा
श्री कृष्ण सुदामा की मित्रता बताती है कि मित्रता में राजा और रंक दोनों एक समान है. सुदामा श्री कृष्ण के परम मित्र थे. सांदीपनि ऋषि के गुरुकुल में शिक्षा ग्रहण करते हुए श्री कृष्ण और सुदामा की मित्रता हुई थी. सुदामा पुराणों के ज्ञाता ब्राह्मण थे . माना जाता है शिक्षा दीक्षा के बाद सुदामा अपने गांव अस्मावतीपुर में भिक्षा मांग कर अपना जीवन यापन करते थे . लेकिन कई बार अपने बच्चों का पेट अच्छे से भर सके उनके पास इतने पैसे भी नहीं थे. सुदामा कई बार अपने मित्र श्री कृष्ण की बारे में अपनी पत्नी को बताते रहते थे.
सुदामा अपनी पत्नी को बताते थे कि अब वे द्वारिका के राजा बन गए हैं.एक दिन सुदामा की पत्नी ने कहा आपको जाकर श्रीकृष्ण से आर्थिक मदद माननी चाहिए ताकि हम अपने बच्चों का अच्छे से पेट भर सके .अपनी पत्नी के कहने पर सुदामा मान गए .सुदामा के पास श्री कृष्ण के लिए भेट के रूप में ले जाने के लिए कुछ भी नहीं था. इसलिए उनकी पत्नी मांग कर किसी से भुने हुए चावल ले आई .

माना जाता है कि उस दिन अक्षय तृतीया का दिन था जब श्री कृष्ण के पास सुदामा गए थे .आज भी अक्षय तृतीया के दिन दान और पूजा का महत्व है .इसे धन-संपत्ति के लाभ से भी जोड़ा जाता है. सुदामा कई दिनों की यात्रा के बाद द्वारिका जी पहुंचे थे. द्वारिका की चकाचौंध देखकर सुदामा आश्चर्यचकित हो गए .
श्री कृष्ण के महल के द्वार पर जाकर सुदामा द्वारपाल से कहने लगे कि मैं श्रीकृष्ण से मिलना चाहता हूं. द्वारपाल ने उनका परिचय पूछा तो उन्होंने बताया कि मेरा नाम सुदामा है, और मैं श्री कृष्ण का मित्र हूं .
साध्वी पूर्णिमा जी का सबसे सुन्दर भजन: मुझे अपने ही रंग में रंग ले
द्वारपाल उन्हें द्वार पर प्रतीक्षा करने के लिए कह कर स्वयं श्री कृष्ण के पास गया. द्वारपाल ने कहा कि एक दीन हीन ब्राह्मण द्वार पर आया है . उसके सिर पर ना तो पगड़ी है और उसने एक फटी सी धोती पहनी है. पैरों में जूते भी नहीं है. लेकिन वह कह रहा है कि वह आपका मित्र हैं, उसका नाम सुदामा है.
द्वारपाल के मुख से जब श्री कृष्ण ने सुदामा का नाम सुना तो श्रीकृष्ण नंगे पांव दौड़े- दौडे़ द्वार पर गए. उन्होंने सुदामा को हृदय से लगा लिया . श्री कृष्ण सुदामा को अपने महल में ले गए और अपने नेत्रों की वर्षा से ही उन्होंने सुदामा के पैर धुलवा दिए.
श्याम की बंशी की धुन: उड़ गई रे नींदिया मेरी, बंसी श्याम ने बजाई रे
स्नान, भोजन के बाद श्री कृष्ण और सुदामा ऋषि संदीपनी के आश्रम की बातें याद करने लगे. श्री कृष्णा ने पूछा कि भाभी ने मेरे लिए क्या भेजा है. सुदामा श्री कृष्ण की समृद्धि देखकर चावलों की पोटली छुपाने लगे . श्रीकृष्ण को पुरानी बात याद आ गई ऋषि संदीपनी के आश्रम में एक बार श्री कृष्ण और सुदामा जंगल में गए थे . गुरु माता ने सुदामा को चने दिए थे कि भूख लगने पर दोनों खा लेना. रास्ते में बारिश होने के कारण दोनों अलग-अलग पेड़ पर चढ़ गए और सुदामा ने सारे चने खा लिए थे. श्री कृष्ण ने पूछा क्या खा रहे हो . सुदामा ने कहा कि ठंड के कारण मैं कांप रहा हूँ इस लिए मेरे दांतों से आवाज आ रही है.कहते हैं किसी का हिस्सा खाने से दरिद्रता आती हैं इसी कारण सुदामा दरिद्र थे.
एक अन्य पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार एक बार एक ब्राह्मणी थी जो कि बहुत ही निर्धन थी। भिक्षा मांग कर अपना जीवन यापन करती थी । एक बार उसे पांच दिन तक भिक्षा में कुछ भी खाने को ना मिला।
कृष्ण जी का प्यारा भजन: बांके बिहारी से प्यार है
छठे दिन उसे भिक्षा में दो मुट्ठी चने मिले । उसने सोचा कि सुबह उठकर ठाकुर जी को भोग लगाकर फिर चने खाएंगी. ब्राह्मणी ने चने एक पोटली में बांध कर रख दिये .
उसी रात्रि उस की कुटिया में चोर चोरी करने आये। कुटिया में उन्हें चुराने के लिए जब कुछ और नहीं मिला तो वे चोर यह विचार कर की शायद इससे कोई मुल्यवान चीज़ होंगी पोटली चुरा कर ले गए।
बिहारी जी का मधुर भजन: वृन्दावन के ओ बांके बिहारी
चोरों की कदमों की आहट से ब्राह्मणी जाग गई और उसने शोर मचा दिया। ब्राह्मणी के शोर मचाने पर चोर भाग गये और गांव वाले चोरों के पीछे भागे.
चोर भागते हुए ऋषि संदीपनी के आश्रम में जाकर छिप गये जहां श्री कृष्ण और सुदामा उस समय उसी आश्रम में शिक्षा ग्रहण कर रहे थे।
जब गांव वाले चलें गए तो चोर आश्रम से भाग गए लेकिन जाते समय चने की पोटली वहीं छोड़ गए। उधर ब्राह्मणी ने श्राप दे दिया कि जो भी मनुष्य मुझ निर्धन के चने खाएंगा वह दरिद्र हो जाएंगा।
अगले दिन सुबह वह चने की पोटली गुरु माता को मिली। गुरु माता ने जब श्री कृष्ण और सुदामा जंगल में लकड़ी लेने जा रहे थे तो वह पोटली सुदामा को दी और कहा कि भूख लगने पर बांट कर खा लेना।
लेकिन सुदामा तो ब्रह्म ज्ञानी थे पोटली पकड़ते ही सारा रहस्य उन्हें समझ में आ गया। सुदामा विचार करने लगे कि गुरु माता ने आदेश दिया है कि दोनों बांट कर चने खा लेना लेकिन उस ब्राह्मणी ने तो श्राप दिया है कि जो भी चने खाएंगा वह दरिद्र हो जाएंगा। यदि श्री कृष्ण ने यह चने खा लिये तो सारी सृष्टि दरिद्र हो जाएंगी।
सबसे सुपरहिट भजन: ऐसी लागी लगन
इसी श्राप के भय से सुदामा ने सारे चने स्वयं खा लिये और उस ब्राह्मणी का श्राप स्वयं पर ले लिया। इस तरह सुदामा ने श्री कृष्ण से अपनी सच्ची मित्रता निभाई थी।
इसलिए श्री कृष्ण के ने कहा तब तुमने चने छुपाएं थे .अब तुम चावल छुपा रहे हो .श्री कृष्ण ने प्रेम भाव से चावलों की पोटली ली और दो मुठ्ठी चावल खा लिए. श्री कृष्ण कहने लगे जितना रस मुझे आज इन चावलों को खा कर आया है .आज तक और किसी को चीज को खाकर नहीं आया.

सुदामा श्री कृष्ण से कुछ भी ना मांग पाए. बिना कुछ मांगे ही घर लौट गए . रास्ते भर सोचते रहे कि पत्नी को जा कर क्या जवाब दूंगा. लेकिन घर पहुंचने पर टूटे-फूटे घर की जगह महल बना था .उनकी पत्नी और बच्चे ने बहुत सुंदर वस्त्र पहने थे .यह देखकर सुदामा समझ गए कि यह सब श्री कृष्ण की कृपा से हुआ. ऐसे ही है ठाकुर जी बिना मांगे ही अपने भक्तों की मुरादे पूरी करते है.
The story of Shri Krishna and Sudama
The friendship of Shri Krishna Sudama tells that in friendship both king and rank are equal. Sudama was the best friend of Shri Krishna . Shri Krishna and Sudama became friends while receiving education in the Gurukul of Rishi Sandipani . Sudama was a Brahmin who knew the Puranas. It is believed that after initiation of education, Sudama used to live his life by begging in his village Asmavatipur. But sometimes they did not even have enough money to feed their children well. Sudama used to tell his wife about his friend Shri Krishna many times.
Sudama used to tell his wife that now he has become the king of Dwarka. One day Sudama’s wife said that you should go and accept financial help from Shri Krishna so that we can feed our children well. Sudama agreed on his wife’s request. Sudama had nothing to take as an offering to Shri Krishna. That’s why his wife brought roasted rice from someone on demand.

It is believed that that day was the day of Akshaya Tritiya when Sudama went to Shri Krishna. Even today, on the day of Akshaya Tritiya, there is importance of charity and worship. It is also associated with the gain of wealth. Sudama had reached Dwarka ji after traveling for many days. Sudama was surprised to see the dazzling beauty of Dwarka.
Going to the door of Shri Krishna’s palace, Sudama told the doorkeeper that I want to meet Shri Krishna. When the gatekeeper asked his introduction, he told that my name is Sudama, and I am a friend of Shri Krishna.

The gatekeeper himself went to Shri Krishna asking him to wait at the gate. The doorkeeper said that a poor Brahmin has come to the door. There is neither a turban on his head and he is wearing a torn dhoti. There are no shoes on the feet either. But he is saying that he is your friend, his name is Sudama.
When Shri Krishna heard Sudama’s name from the doorkeeper, Shri Krishna ran barefoot and went to the door. He hugged Sudama close to his heart. Shri Krishna took Sudama to his palace and with the rain of his eyes, he washed Sudama’s feet.

After bath and food, Shri Krishna and Sudama started reminiscing about Rishi Sandipani’s ashram. Shri Krishna asked what the sister-in-law had sent for me. Seeing the prosperity of Shri Krishna, Sudama started hiding the bundle of rice. Shri Krishna remembered the old thing Once Shri Krishna and Sudama went to the forest in the ashram of Rishi Sandipani. Guru Mata had given gram to Sudama that he should eat both when he is hungry. Due to rain on the way, both climbed different trees and Sudama had eaten all the gram. Shri Krishna asked what are you eating. Sudama said that I am trembling because of the cold, that’s why the sound is coming from my teeth.
According to another legend, once there was a Brahmin who was very poor. She used to live her life by begging. Once he did not get anything to eat in alms for five days.

On the sixth day he got two handfuls of gram in alms. She thought that she would wake up in the morning and eat gram after offering food to Thakur ji. Brahmin tied the gram in a bundle and kept it.
The same night thieves came to his cottage to steal. When they could not find anything else in the cottage to steal, the thieves stole the bundle thinking that there might be something more valuable than it.
Sweet hymn of Bihari ji: Vrindavan Ke O Banke Bihari
The Brahmin woke up with the sound of the thieves’ footsteps and raised an alarm. The thieves ran away after the brahmin made noise and the villagers ran after the thieves.
The thieves ran away and hid in the hermitage of Rishi Sandipani where Shri Krishna and Sudama were studying in the same hermitage at that time.
When the villagers left, the thieves ran away from the ashram but left the gram bundle there while leaving. On the other hand, the Brahmin cursed that whoever eats gram of me poor will become poor.
The next day in the morning that gram potli was received by Guru Mata. When Shri Krishna and Sudama were going to collect firewood in the forest, Guru Mata gave that bundle to Sudama and told him to share it and eat it when he is hungry.
But Sudama was a Brahmin, he understood the whole secret as soon as he held the potli. Sudama started thinking that Guru Mata has ordered that both of them should eat gram after dividing it, but that Brahmin has cursed that whoever eats gram will become poor. If Shri Krishna ate this gram, then the whole creation would become poor.

Due to the fear of this curse, Sudama himself ate all the gram and took the curse of that Brahmin on himself. In this way Sudama had shown his true friendship with Shri Krishna.
That’s why Shri Krishna said then you had hidden gram. Now you are hiding rice. Shri Krishna took a bundle of rice with love and ate two handfuls of rice. Shri Krishna started saying that I have got as much juice today after eating this rice.

Sudama could not ask anything from Shri Krishna. Returned home without asking for anything. Kept thinking all the way what answer I would give to my wife. But on reaching home, a palace had been built in place of the dilapidated house. His wife and child were wearing very beautiful clothes. Seeing this, Sudama understood that all this happened by the grace of Shri Krishna. This is how Thakur ji fulfills the wishes of his devotees even without asking.
