Breaking News: Earlier this evening the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia lifted all restrictions related to Covid 19. This includes social distancing and mask-wearing when going outdoors or entering religious buildings such as mosques.
What do we know So far?
As of 5th March 2022, these are the things we know so far.
PCR Tests:
There are currently no PCR tests needed for anyone visiting Saudi Arabia. Previously, all travelers would be tested whether they had been vaccinated or not but these restrictions have been lifted and those who haven’t already been vaccinated will not be required to do so.
Wearing Masks:
Wearing a mask while out in public is not mandatory, but it is required when visiting shops or mosques or any other enclosed area
Covid 19 Quarantine:
Travellers from all over the globe are not required to practice Institutional Quarantine. Furthermore, they are allowed to Come to Saudi Arabia without going Quarantined for 3 days or 5 days.
Visit Visa:
Those who come on Visitor Visas must carry with them Covid 19 Insurance which will cover any medical expenses related to the condition.
International Flights:
Flights are now open for travel to the kingdom from South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Malawi, Mauritius, Zambia, Madagascar, Angola, Seychelles and Nigeria.
Social Distancing:
Social Distancing has been completely abolished in Saudi Arabia. All social distancing measures have been repealed in both closed and open places, activities, and events.
Umrah Visa:
All flights in and out of Saudi Arabia are open without restrictions or limits on who can enter or where they come from. All one needs to do is register for their immunization before entering the Kingdom using Muqeem’s platform 72 hours prior to arrival.
