Asianet, the Malayalam entertainment channel is set to premiere a brand new serial – Santhwanam. From the makers of super hit show Vanambadi, this exciting new drama series will make its television debut on September 21st, with air times from Monday to Saturday at 7 pm sharp.
Don’t mistake it for the classic 1991 Indian Malayalam movie by the same name. Starring Nedumudi Venu, Meena and Bharathi, the iconic film is renowned for its track ‘Unni Vaavaa Vo, Ponnunni Vaavaa Vo..’.
Santhwanam Story Line- Remake of Panian Stores on Star Vijay
Santhwanam, the official Malayalam remake of Star Vijay Channel’s Pandian Stores, is currently being aired on Asianet. With various versions in different languages such as Vadinamma in Telugu, Varalakshmi Stores in Kannada and Sahakutumb Sahaparivar in Marathi, Santhwanam revolves around Sreedevi and her husband Satyanathan – a couple living with their husband’s siblings and parents like an extended family.
The series centres around the coming together of two families following the union of two new daughters-in-law and shows how harmony can be achieved despite a number of conflicting forces. It is packed with exciting elements including relationships, rivalries and romance between Chippy Ranjith, Rajeev Parameswar, Lakshmi, Girish Nambiar, Sajin, Ambika Gopika and Apsara in lead roles.
Santhwanam is the official Malayalam remake of Star Vijay channel’s Pandian Stores and tells the story of Ananthapadmanabhan and Lekshmi who are running a grocery store in a village and have four sons. The family experiences hardship due to Shankaran (Lakshmi’s brother), ultimately leading to Ananthapadmanabhan’s suicide. After which, Sreedevi enters their lives and slowly helps them out of all troubles.
It premiered on 21 September at 7:00 P.M on Asianet and completed 450+ episodes, receiving high television rating points (TRP). This made it the most popular Malayalam television program as per latest rating data. Sajin TP is a rising actor in both the Malayalam Cinema and Serial Industries. He has starred in two feature films, Malayalam and Plus Two, and recently appeared in the popular television serial Santhwanam.
