Akshay Kumar’s most expensive film yet, Samrat Prithviraj, will be released on June 3rd. The movie is based off the life of India’s last Hindu King and was produced by Yash Raj Films. Advance tickets were made available starting on Sunday but sales so far haven’t been very promising.
As per the data collected by Bollywood Hungama, Samrat Prithviraj has sold around 10,000 tickets at PVR, Inox and Cinepolis on Wednesday morning. This is around 1/3 of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which had sold an approximated 30,000 tickets at the same properties on Wednesday morning. Outside these three major movie theaters there isn’t a significant increase in ticket sales as of Wednesday Morning. The advanced ticket sales are also lower than RRR which has so far managed to sell around 27,000 tickets in the major movie theater chains as of Wednesday Morning.
Akshay has been going aggressive on the promotional front with multiple screenings expected to be held for influential personalities on Wednesday and Thursday, we anticipate a certain bump in advance booking by Thursday end.
If we talk about the Indian population, the amount of people who purchased tickets for Samrat Prihtiraj Wednesday morning was less than one million. A significant increase in ticket sales is necessary on Wednesdays and Thursdays if he wants to have a respectable total for his film. As of now there isn’t much excitement from viewers who would like to go see his movie.
