The positive reviews for Saand Ki Aankh predicted a successful opening on Monday; yet the nearly tripled collections, compared to Sunday’s figures, show that viewers have truly enjoyed the film over its first weekend. These content audiences have sparked great word-of-mouth publicity for Tushar Hiranandani’s project and its impact is clear.
The film’s collection was bolstered on the day following Diwali when many people showed up to view it. This saw the Anurag Kashyap and Reliance production soar to Rs. 5.65 crores in total, though it still has a ways to go to make a profit. With ‘bhai dooj’ providing a partial holiday today, approximately another Rs. 2 crore could be added to the film’s earnings.
Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar have undoubtedly experienced some sense of relief given the rather low earnings on the first day, totalling only around fifty lakhs. However, with a sustained daily income in excess of one crore over the next week or two, Saand Ki Aankh is expected to manage an acceptable total in its lifetime run.
