This week’s three new releases saw an impressive increase with Saand Ki Aankh earning a staggering Rs. 1.75 crores more than the initial Friday count of Rs. 0.50 crores. Although there is likely to be some fluctuation in numbers due to Diwali, it can be predicted that the final tally will exceed the one crore mark by the end of the day.
The two day figures of Rs. 2.25 crores are the lowest when contrasted to Made In China’s current gross at Rs. 2.78 crores, however, Saand Ki Aankh will soon take over it and the real contest would commence on Tuesday after the extended four-day weekend is complete.
Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar’s newest film has had the best critical response among the new releases, and its word of mouth is favorable. However, it is playing at very low levels, requiring much ground to be gained. Since it is only being shown on a limited number of screens and showtimes, Tushar Hiranandani’s directing effort needs to remain steady for an extended period if its collections are to reach above Rs 1 crore.
