Upon the news that cinemas in Maharashtra were reopening in September, filmmakers quickly revealed their film’s release dates. One of the biggest clashes occurred when Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi and SS Rajamouli’s RRR were slated to come out in the first week of January 2022. Fortunately, the producers of Gangubai Kathiawadi have now moved their film’s release date by more than four weeks in order to dodge any competition at the box office.
On November 15, 2021, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Dr. Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Studios proudly announced the new release date for Alia Bhatt–starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi. This epic cinematic masterpiece is set to grace theaters on February 18, 2022.
Following SS expression of gratitude on Twitter to Jayantilal Gada and Bhansali for bringing the release date of the movie closer, it was apparent that appreciation was being given.
Named Gangubai Kathiawadi, has been forever enshrined in the annals of history as The Madam of Kamathipura. Forced into the world of prostitution at a young age, she ultimately gained great power, leading a gang of dangerous criminals and establishing herself as an influential pimp.
Set release on January 7, 2022, RRR stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan in lead roles, while Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn will appear in special cameos. This upcoming period drama is highly anticipated.
