A new Indian film is set to release this Friday. The hype around the movie has been building up since its announcement, but can it live up to the hype? And if so, what will make it succeed? RRR boasts huge names behind-the-scenes – especially director SS Rajamouli – who became famous internationally with Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
Usually, Hindi films don’t open with more than Rs 15 crores, but because of the pandemic (and other reasons), RRR hasn’t had enough time for promotion and marketing and thus may see lower numbers. But even if there are fewer views for this first weekend release, we’re confident that once people see how amazing the movie really is and how much effort went into producing it, those numbers will grow exponentially in the coming days!
Here, RRR will not go it alone. There is competition in the form of The Kashmir Files which, even in its third week, would be akin to a decent mid-budget film with a known star cast to be standing in its way. The Anupam Kher led film should collect Rs. 6-7 crores for sure on Friday, which means an added distraction for the audience. Consequently, a start of Rs. 11-13 crores should be possible for the NTR Jr. and Ram Charan starring film; if evening shows prove to have turn arounds then there can be some amazing results but this isn’t likely unless they are staggering successes or they show unexpected growth over the course of Saturday and Sunday as well as these first two days!
