This past Friday, the Ram Charan-Jr. NTR starrer RRR (Ra Ra Rajasekhar) hit screens nationwide with much anticipation from fans who couldn’t contain their excitement for this long awaited film. Within just five days of its initial release, it earned over 100 crores of revenue domestically and internationally without ever slowing down or showing signs of weakness. Furthermore, this success comes after months and months of promotion which made it all the more successful in people’s minds even before they saw it themselves despite being seemingly unsurpassable by Vikas Bahl’s Kaashmir Files starring veteran actor Anupam Kher.
In fact, the film managed to bring in Rs. 15.02 cr on its first Tuesday and is ranked as one of the top 19 opening days ever after outperforming recent releases like ‘Padmaavat’ with an opening weekend collection of Rs. 14 crores and ‘Baaghi 3’ which collected RS 13.5 crores worth of profit during its opening weekend run only before breaking records for Rangoon Rowdy Rajkumar. It did not manage to beat ‘The Kashmir Files’ – which brought in Rs 18 crore- during its first day release but thanks to Indian trade analysts predicting that by this time next week, RRR will have already broken records and earn over a 100 crores!
