Salman Khan’s movie Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai was released around the world on Saturday, May 13th, 2021. However, it was primarily watched in India as a pay-per-view through ZeePlex because most theaters were closed for security reasons. The film opened in only three theaters across the country – two in Tripura and one in Maharashtra – with Maharashtra switching to an unlock mode at Level 1 areas; this means that places, where cases are firmly under control (Level 1), will no longer refuse to operate their businesses out of fear of further attacks or threats. A majority of levels fall between Levels 1 and 2 because they’re unsafe but some still found success despite this.
It was good news for me when I heard that two movie theaters were willing to show the film Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai starting from Friday, June 11. These theaters are Enjoy Drive-in cinema at Malegaon, and Khinvasara Cineplex (formerly Apsara Cinema) in Aurangabad. While Enjoy Drive-in cinema will show this film twice a day at 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm, Khinvasara Cineplex will play it four times per day, showing it at 12 noon, 3:00pm , 6:15pm and 9:30pm.
Bollywood Hungama had only revealed on Saturday, June 12th that on Friday, at Enjoy Cinema(62 people), the first show of the day was cancelled due to a lack of audience. At Khinvasara Cineplex (22 tickets over four shows) before it could collect any revenue whatsoever with its Sunday screenings scheduled for today. Trade experts have been quoted saying they estimate it has already made Rs6018 so far.
Bollywood Hungama can now access the collections of Saturdays and Sundays. In comparison to Friday, there weren’t many people at Enjoy Drive-in Cinema on Saturday – just 16 tickets were sold. Khinvasara Cineplex, however, had a much better day on Saturday – this time around 41 tickets were sold. On Sunday, there seemed to be far more people at both locations: 39 ticket sales at Enjoy Drive-in Cinema and 36 viewers spread over four showings at Khinvasara Cineplex.
A trade expert told Bollywood Hungama, On Saturday, Radhe – Your Most Wanted Brother collected Rs. 5,445 while on Sunday, it collected Rs. 6,229. These are approximate figures. Since the Friday collections stood at Rs. 6,018 , the weekend collections of Radhe – Your Most Wanted Brother are Rs. 17,792. In its release week, Radhe – Your Most Wanted Brother had collected Rs. 63,248 from the Tripura theatres; bringing this film’s total earnings to date to Rs. 81,040 through Tripura and Maharashtra theaters.
Meanwhile, from today, Khinvasara Cineplex will only show Radhe – Your Most Wanted Brother twice a day at 3:00 pm and 6:15 pm. It remains to be seen if this theater continues showing the film after next Friday. Meanwhile sources suggest that Radhe – Your Most Wanted Brother will also get released in Mumbai and other cities when the government officially says it is OK for theaters to open again.
