It came, it surprised and left quite an impression. That may very well be how we would describe the movie hit-film Pushpa (Hindi) which has now completed four weeks at the box office. The film thrived from success to success for the first three weeks and made us all excited about what kind of euphoric feeling this will bring to those who do want to see it at the single screens. But then, theatres shut down once again so suddenly in its fourth week – with that happening, there was a sudden decline in people coming over during its final stretch when they had every opportunity before hand.
Nonetheless, the film has already accumulated Rs. 84 crores*, and today the collections should seem some sort of upswing again due to the festive season. One may wonder just how high those numbers would have been if the situation wasn’t so dire – maybe even a 4-day long weekend thanks to this time of year – but alas it’s too late for that now. Even still, there’s no chance we’ll see over 100 crores*, but nearing 90 will do just fine. In retrospect, when Allu Arjun stars in his next movie, you can expect its release date to coincide with Diwali (or its equivalent) so people can enjoy blockbuster Bollywood movies all year round!
