Allu Arjun’s latest movie Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1 was released last December. It has been doing well in the box office ever since and it doesn’t look like it will stop anytime soon. This film already made Rs. 6 cr during its first month, which increased to Rs. 10 cr after two months of release while earning an additional Rs. 8 cr this past week! With just under two months left until the end of this year, it looks as though Allu Arjun will continue his success through Christmas by adding another 4 crores before the year ends!
In this analysis we explore the eight weeks performance of Pushpa, who is finally starting to make a name for herself with some comparisons against films that have performed similarly in consecutive weeks. This film has outperformed Baahubali 2- The Conclusion’s collection from last week by taking home Rs. 3.25 cr (the second best performer after Uri – The Surgical Strike which had collected Rs. 5.96 cr). Some competing titles for comparison include Baahubali 2-The Conclusion which earned Rs 1.4 crore and Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior, which collected Rs 1.25 crore among others. Along with these names are also 3 Idiots (Rs1 24cr), Padmaavat(Rs1 16cr), AndhaDhun(Rs1 12cr), Badhaai Ho(Rs0 59c) and Dangal(Rs0 43). As well as Raazi (from last year) at 0 21cr
As of now, with two releases in the form of Badhaai Do and Gehraiyaan both currently playing at theaters and on OTT respectively Pushpa: The Rise has competition on all fronts. And it won’t come as a surprise if Pushpa ends up doing well despite new releases due to its strong fanbase who refuses to let it go down without putting up some kind of fight first.
