After a pleasantly surprising start at the box office, Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1 continued to perform well during the year-end festive season even after many hurdles were put up against it. On its third week of release, Pushpa managed to rake in another Rs. 15.85 crores, raising it’s current total box office collections to an impressive Rs. 62.94 crores (1).
Interestingly, the third weekend collections of Pushpa: The Rise has been reported to be higher than its second weekend which had a collection worth Rs. 12.68 cr due to the postponement of the Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey and subsequent extension in running time for the film. Additionally, prior to its third weekend opening up new theaters, there was an increase in total number of screens over previous weeks for this latest Bollywood release.
With these two factors along with a lackluster response to Ranveer Singh’s 83, coupled with a Hollywood release that did not see success either (Spider-Man), it is safe to say that these extra efforts have led Pushpa: The Rise even further – especially since it is close to overtakingRs 78 crore at this point now.
