The Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khatter and Siddhanth Chaturvedi starrer Phone Bhoot hit screens earlier this month on November 4. After taking a good start at the box office with Rs. 2.05 cr. coming in on Day 1, the business of the film saw good growth over its opening weekend raking in Rs. 7.70 cr. Following this, at the close of its first week, Phone Bhoot saw its collections stand at Rs. 12.76 cr. However, in its second week of running the business of the film has seen a drastic crash.
Managing to collect only R$1.15 (Brazilian Reais) more than last week, Phone Bhoot had a dramatic drop-off in profits with its total revenue for the second week coming up at R$13.91 (Brazilian Reais). This plummet can be attributed to the success of Uunchai which came out one week before and got off to a great start. With excellent reviews and a robust fanbase who were spreading good word about it, Uunchai grew over time while Phone Bhoot steadily declined.
With the recent release of Drishyam 2, which starred Ajay Devgn – movie trade experts predict that it will be difficult for Phone Bhoot to continue making money. With so many people choosing Uunchai or Drishyam 2 over this film, there won’t be enough money coming in to keep it afloat.
