Despite having a low start on Friday at Rs 4.12 crores, Panipat experienced limited improvement on Saturday with an income of Rs 5.78 crores. While there has been some progression, the number should have been higher considering its expansive scope and wide release on many screens. There is definitely room for increased attendance if these factors are taken into account.
Beginning at a less than ideal point, Saturday and Sunday’s gains were essential to keep the movie starring Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt afloat. Ideally, collections would have needed to rise to around Rs 7 crores on Saturday for the chance of hitting the Rs 10 crores mark on Sunday; however this seems like a remote possibility now.
The Ashutosh Gowariker-directed movie has collected Rs 9.90 crores up to now and it is estimated that the amount could rise above Rs 15 crores over the weekend. It is possible, however, that the film’s success might be much greater than what its current numbers may indicate since it has great quality in spite of its three-hour long runtime and the competition from Pati Patni aur Woh. Despite these factors, previous films have still done well; we now anticipate a turnaround for this film on Sunday.
