The much–anticipated Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha was released on Thursday, August 11, after months of intense promotion. Advait Chandan directed the movie while Atul Kulkarni wrote it; and Kareena Kapoor Khan was featured in it alongside Khan. Though people had great expectations for this remake of the classic Forrest Gump film, the feedback from critics and audience members have been anything but stellar, which has made things difficult at the box office.
Abroad, Laal Singh Chaddha has seen greater success than it has in the Indian markets. The movie concluded its first week with a total overseas earnings of USD 6 million [Rs. 47.95 cr.]
Although Laal Singh Chaddha has been receiving some polarised opinions, it is anticipated that its business will further increase.
