The movie directed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Kashmir Files had an amazingly successful opening weekend. Released on Friday last week, it collected Rs. 3.55 cr within the first 24 hours of its screening – but this was only just the beginning. Saturday showed continuous improvement over Day One as it made Rs. 8.50 cr., or 325% more than what was generated on Opening Day alone! And now in response to Sunday’s success with Rs 17 crores (300% increase), The Kashmir Files had another spectacular record-breaking performance with Rs 15 crore (+325%) earned at the box office just yesterday!
As per news, The Kashmir Files which continued to hold screens and had increased showings for its opening week was able to maintain the momentum it initially had. Predictions for Monday – as calculated by advance bookings and projections – estimated that the film might manage a collection of Rs. 16 crores but instead drew Rs. 15.05 crores; in spite of lack of promotion, having only one non-holiday release date and going up against some strong competition at theatres with Radhe Shyam and Gangubai Kathiawadi releasing on Friday. To add to all this, The Kashmir Files has also seen an increase in footfalls (323%) from day 1 collections!
Given the unprecedented success of this film, it will most likely exceed earnings from The Tashkent Files. This prediction is based off recent trends which suggest that this movie will be one of the highest-grossing films of the year. If these expectations are met and given how high-profile this new release is, it’s possible for the movie to make up to Rs. 150 crores or even more!
