The Anupam Kher-starring The Kashmir Files, which was directed by Vivek Agnihotri, became an instant hit after it was released two weeks ago. As the name suggests, it deals with the conflict in Jammu and Kashmir. The movie has managed to maintain a steady flow of collections up until now even though it faces stiff competition from other movies such as Bachchan Paandey (which is about the life of Amitabh Bacchan) and RRR; both of which are becoming popular fast among viewers.
For our next round-up article, we will explore the Rs. 8.75 crore third weekend earnings of The Kashmir files while looking back at how other movies released compare to it so far. Although they may boast substantial success at this point in time, recent release records show that there are a number of others who outshine it in terms of ticket sales as well such as Baahubali 2 -The Conclusion which had raked in roughly Rs. 17 crores so far or PK with around 10 crores already under its belt for example.
Though apparently slightly off from the success these two aforementioned releases accumulated during their own runs at the box office, analysts have pointed out that since these too shall be pulled from theatres after releasing for one month only, then logically enough revenues generated by The Kashmir Files would also start slowing down going forward– especially now after RR Rajakumar took a sizeable share of screen space for itself on account of breaking Dangal’s record last Friday.
