It’s happening right now for Kantara (Hindi) – with this new addition of Rs. 10 crores, they are in the range to reach the Rs. 100 Crore Club. Sure it’ll take time to cross that milestone but they will surely get there without fail! And if so, then we’ll all be waiting until they hit that big one hundred crore mark and then see what happens next!
This week has seen the fourth week turn out to be truly remarkable, thanks in large part to reaching an all-time high of Rs. 70 crores*. All these weeks the movie has held steady and stayed strong – even during weekday showings – making it another noteworthy accomplishment for this blockbuster. But this time around may prove to be a challenge as Marvel’s big release Black Panther: Wakanda Forever makes its way here, alongside many other local Indian productions just released.
Meanwhile, PhoneBhoot is now aiming for a lifetime of about Rs. 20 crores. That could have gone better than what it did – with the first week being only Rs. 13 crores*. If it were closer to Rs. 20 crores though, then perhaps a lifetime of Rs. 30 crores would have been possible; which would not be too shabby if you ask me! Unfortunately, audiences weren’t lining up outside theaters in such great numbers they should’ve- given how good the horror parody comedy was – so instead of being higher than expected, the first week turned out lower than anticipated. With many new movies releasing this upcoming week, there will be plenty more options for audiences to choose from…and that means PhonBhootha’s own movie won’t do nearly as well as we had hoped because there are too many other options available!
