Kantara is about to become a huge success in the box office, this time in Hindi as well. With the original Kannada version already being successful, Kantara’s English counterpart will soon catch up too. As proved on Friday night when Kantura made Rs. 2 crores – twice what it did last week – all over India! At this rate and pace of success, Kantura may go down as one of the most successful films ever!
The movie made Rs. 1.27 crores within its first day and with 2.05 crores by the eighth, it is clear that word of mouth will quickly spread among audiences due to their interest in the film. Although the film isn’t really making much money in North India, at least there are pockets where people seem genuinely interested, even if they are only from areas near Maharashtra (especially Mumbai). This means this is a profitable investment for those involved; we’ve made back all our costs before even thinking about whatever profits come later.
For its opening weekend, Kantara (Hindi) has collected Rs. 2.75 crores over the course of Saturday, and Sunday- both days were holidays too. With only Rs. 2 crore being earned yesterday and Rs. 2.75 crore being earned today it is entirely possible that there will be more than just one million coming in tomorrow, bringing total collection to around 3 crores which would make it even better than what was expected!
Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources
