The immensely hyped actioner Dhaakad starring Kangana Ranaut was released last week. However, despite the promotions and of course the insane amount of action, the film has massively under performed at the box office. After collecting just Rs. 0.50 cr. on opening day, the business of the film continued to remain low over its opening weekend with just Rs. 1.55 cr. coming in. When compared to Kangana Ranaut’s previous releases Dhaakad ranks as her third lowest opening weekend grosser, managing to surpass the collections of her previous releases like Thalaivii, which collected Rs. 1.07 cr, and Miley Naa Miley Hum, which had collected Rs. 0.46 cr. If that wasn’t all, look at Kangana Ranaut’s release list in the recent past, with Dhaakad underperforming, the actress now has two back-to-back disasters at the box office in the form of Dhaakad and Thalaivi.

With this being considered as her weakest opener by far – even lower than those of her previous releases such as Thalaivii that earned Rs 1 crore and Miley Naa Miley Hum which earned Rs 46 lakhs; it seems quite clear how poorly promoted this movie is after all when we consider these numbers in comparison to her other films.
