Raj Mehta’s highly anticipated and heavily marketed film Jugjugg Jeeyo starring Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor, was released last Friday. It was warmly welcomed, garnering praise from critics and audiences alike. This was reflected in its success over the weekend in the domestic market, with its business growing from Friday to Sunday. The film also fared quite well in overseas markets, where it is produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom 18.
According to reports, the recent overseas release of Jugjugg Jeeyo in USA and Canada has already generated approximately USD 1 million [Rs. 7.89 cr] in just five days of its launch. The movie had an expansive global launch, with 4389+ screens across the world, with 1014 screens overseas. With such a large scale release, combined with a strong word–of–mouth response, it is not surprising that the film has been doing so well.
In the foreseeable future, Jugjugg Jeeyo, which appeals more to the multiplex–going audience in metropolitan cities, is expected to continue garnering steady collections, according to predictions. In fact, industry experts estimate that the film will remain successful despite new releases coming out in theaters later in the week.
