Following the collection of a tremendous Rs. 53.66 crores in the initial week, the comedy–drama starring Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani is still strong on its second Friday. Director Raj Mehtra’s production has gathered an estimated Rs. 2.70 – 2.90 crores, resulting in total collections that have surpassed the Rs. 56.20 crore mark.
The movie witnessed a routine decline of 20 percent on the second Friday and has now paved the way for increased viewership over the weekend. Delhi continues to be the most lucrative circuit; however, Mumbai’s figures have been detrimentally affected by Thursday and Friday’s showers. Though it may seem insignificant, had it not been for the rains, the movie would have been able to collect up to Rs. 10–12 lakhs more over the two days.
If the film experiences substantial growth over the weekend, it will exceed Rs. 65 crores in ten days and be well on its way to join the Rs. 75 crore box office club. By Sunday, it will also become the fourth movie of the year to enter the prestigious Rs. 100 crore global club, after the successful releases of Gangubai, Kashmir Files and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
