The much anticipated Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani starrer, Jug Jugg Jeeyo, has been met with an impressive box office performance in the weekdays, registering only a marginal decline of less than 10 percent on Tuesday, as the estimated collections for the day are estimated to be between Rs. 4.50 and 4.60 crores. Multiplexes in the top 8 cities have reported a sustained momentum in the movie’s business.
After 5 days, Jug Jugg Jeeyo has collected an impressive sum of more than Rs. 46 crores, and is now poised to earn Rs. 53 crores during its opening week. Wednesday will mark the point where it will exceed the figures of Bachchan Paandey, and by the close of the second weekend, it is projected to outperform Samrat Prithviraj and emerge as the third highest–grossing Hindi movie of 2022, following The Kashmir Files and Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Jug Jugg Jeeyo has seen tremendous success at the box office, which is no surprise given that its plot focuses on the sensitive topic of divorce. Although the production team worked to broaden its appeal by injecting humour into the narrative, the fifth day’s collections have been incredibly strong. If it maintains figures around the Rs. 4 crore mark for the upcoming Wednesday and Thursday, then the movie will certainly get back on track by the second weekend. With a good run, it could very well hit Rs. 75 crore in its lifetime, although much depends on how the crowds respond to it on Saturday and Sunday.
