Following an excellent first weekend grossing Rs. 36.93 crores, Jug Jugg Jeeyo has held up stably on its inaugural Monday. Preliminary projections show a less than 50% decline in revenue on the fourth day. Directed by Raj Mehta and starring Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Neetu Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor, the film has grossed between Rs. 4.90 to 5.20 crores on day four, accumulating a total of Rs. 42 crores.
Dropping on a Monday was expected for this multiplex film, as the ticket prices were typically lower on weekdays. It is essential for Jug Jugg Jeeyo to remain at Rs. 3.50 crores or higher until Thursday in order to sustain itself. Although it is still holding its own in Mumbai and Delhi, it has seen a significant decrease in other areas, particularly in the mass circuits.
All in all, there has been a staggering 35 percent reduction in attendance compared to the opening day, albeit compensated for by a decrease in ticket prices of 45 percent. With the ongoing buzz in the intended viewer base, Jug Jugg Jeeyo is expected to reach a net gross of Rs. 50 crore in the opening week, and with further uptick in its collection over the second weekend, we estimate a total earnings of Rs. 75 crores by the end of its theatrical run.
