The recently released Rajveer Singh starrer Jayeshbhai Jordaar has been making headlines lately due to its socially relevant subject matter. With great promotion and hype, the movie was predicted to start off strong after opening for morning and afternoon showings but the reality proved otherwise. Reports say there are about 10% occupancy rates for both types of showings. Released across 2,250 screens domestically, this movie needed to replicate numbers from movies released in recent years that have done very well in terms of revenue generated.
However it seems like this particular film’s topic wasn’t received very well because of its niche focus rather than targeting a wide audience. Going forward, Jayeshbhai Jordaar will need an immense amount of positive word-of-mouth publicity in order to see good numbers on Day One since the current trends predict Day One collections hovering around the Rs 4 – 5 crore mark (between $600K – $750K).
