There is only one major theatre showing this film in my city and even then it isn’t doing very well. It just opened last week on Friday but already made about $3.25 million after a slow start; though sadly, it won’t do much better than that despite being advertised relentlessly before its release. With just $12 million coming from its opening weekend, this movie won’t bring in many people – even though Ranveer Singh stars in it. As of now, I’m still going to show this movie if someone decides they want to see it; but with the numbers not looking good so far, I don’t think it will do well financially or at the box office.
In the latest Box Office Report, we take a look at Jayeshbhai Jordaar’s opening week earnings compared to Ranveer Singh’s past films. This film earned nearly Rs. 15 million in it’s first week, second lowest among Ranveer’s films; just exceeding Band Baaja Baaraat which had collected Rs. 9 million dollars. Unfortunately for Jayeshbhai Jordaar there are two new releases this coming weekend -Bhool Bhulaya 2 and Dhaakad -which will undoubtedly hurt the movie’s earnings potential. Predictions show that most theaters won’t run the movie anymore because it’ll lose money for them; therefore we predict that Jayeshbhai Jordaar might hit about Rs.20 crores before it closes out of theatres nationwide.
