This Friday, check out Jai Mummy Di in theaters! Sunny Singh and Sonnalli Seygall come back together again after being cast as the lead characters in Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2. This time around though, the conflict arises between their respective mothers, played by Supriya Pathak and Poonam Dhillon. The film was completed some time ago; however it had originally been scheduled to release last summer, so now it will be released among some of the first films of 2020.
Promotional material provides a tantalizing glimpse into what seems to be an entertaining family comedy movie with catchy music that is sure to resonate with people everywhere. But despite this footage giving viewers a taste of what this Navjot Gulati-directed film might be about there is not much marketing or promotion going on which leaves us feeling indifferently excited about what could happen come opening night!
The release of Jai Mummy Di has been well timed by producers to garner audience attention during the run of Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior. With no new releases slated against this movie in the next few weeks, it will rely heavily on its popularity among young viewers and families to turn out a profit. With an opening day around Rs. 1-2 crores (1 million rupees), only time will tell if such high hopes can be met.
