Recently, many people have become familiar with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. It is a personality test with 16 different outcomes – all of them having both strong and weak points. For example, you can be introverted or extroverted; intuitive or sensing; thinking or feeling; judging or prospecting. But just so you know: in the context of the personality test, these words might not mean exactly what they do in regular conversation.
The Mediator (INFP) for instance, is someone who possesses Introversion, Intuition, Feeling and Prospecting – four traits which are considered rare among personalities today. Quiet but passionate about what they believe in whether it’s creative work like painting or writing stories- these unique individuals find joy from being creatively independent by working alone most of the time.
1. Mizunashi Akari – Aria
If you love Aria, then you also love Akari. You can’t deny the charm she has and how much of an individual she is among all other characters in her show. If you’re one of those who dislike her or are indifferent towards her – it’s all good. There are plenty more amazing people waiting for you! Maybe she’ll become your favorite character yet – at least, out of all those we’ve seen so far.
2. Dawn – Pokémon
According to most people in the Pokémon community, Dawn is the best girl from all five generations of games. Others might disagree and claim that title instead goes to Serena, but regardless of who you decide is the best girl, everyone can agree on at least three things about Dawn: she’s smart, kind-hearted, and talented. As well as being one of the more memorable female characters throughout all five generations of games; making an appearance again in Pokémon Journeys has been an absolute delight for some fans.
3. Makoto Edamura – Great Pretender
The Great Pretender is an amusing anime with a handful of unforgettable characters. One of those memorable fellows is Makoto Edamura. Out of all the other ‘Great Pretenders’, Makato has big dreams for himself; one day hoping to be able to support his mother’s mounting medical bill. Makoto can be very well-mannered and friendly while being surprisingly humble at times too! His only downfall may just lie in his egoism – but even then, he still manages to keep his positive attitude up without fail!
4. Chifuyu – Tokyo Revengers
This one is a favorite among many anime-loving girls. Chifuyu is one of the most significant protagonists in Tokyo Revengers; he has been friends with Baji for years. A rational and practical man, he values this bond more than anything else; it motivates his actions in life. This levelheadedness has earned him high status among fellow members of the Tokyo Manji Gang – they know he can be trusted because he would never betray them or go back on his word due to this unbreakable loyalty.
5. Crona – Soul Eater
We don’t know if Crona is male or female. But what we do know is that he/she is one of the best and most popular characters in Soul Eater. His introverted personality combined with his dark and difficult past makes him an understanding INFJ. I am convinced that Crona would be a great and supportive friend.
6. Monet – One Piece
The snow harpy, now I remember – Monet is an INFP character from One Piece. I’m not saying she was forgettable; but because there are so many other characters in the series that it can be hard to keep track of them all! Monet is a cunning individual who may appear calm and collected at times while also being sly, clever, and intelligent. Her charm comes from her emerald hair and her amber eyes which really set her apart from everyone else!
7. Yuri Katsuki – Yuri on Ice
The anime protagonist who teased thousands of people is also an INFP. Yuri is a person who enjoys learning new things and overcoming obstacles, practicing skating or whatever comes her way – all while staying positive even though she’s usually shy or introverted. Yuki is one of the finest examples of an INFP character and makes for a good protagonist because he values hard work and has optimism that everything will turn out fine.
8. Shizuku Tsukishima – Whisper of the Heart
The adorable yet diminutive Shizuku is also an INFP character. Though often times impolite, she is a sweet and hopeful little girl. In every situation, she looks for ways to put everyone at ease and make them feel like they belong there too – which comes through in her kindness for others. Whisper of the Heart is a great film/movie, one made just for people with my personality type, who are genuinely interested in it all (whether it be art or simply being happy).
9. Akane Tsunemori – Psycho Pass
It takes a lot of effort to maintain positivity when the world seems so dark, but people like Akane make it possible. Intelligent, clean, and laid-back while still being able to change depending on her surroundings – if anyone could teach me how to be optimistic no matter what my fate may hold, it would be this young woman. As someone with an INFP personality type – often regarded as some of the most selfless people out there – she’s undoubtedly one of the best female anime characters we’ve seen lately.
10. Shin-Ah – Yona of the Dawn
Shin-Ah is one of the most intriguing characters in Yona of the Dawn. His personality may seem stoic, but he has always been a man to quietly observe before making his move. Spending time with Yona and her friends slowly matures him into someone who is both gentle and contemplative – possessing qualities that have made him an INFP character we all love dearly.
11. Izumi Miyamura – Horimiya
Everybody who watches Horimiya knows that Izumi is humble yet assertive-ish. He has a good mix of kindness and attitude which makes girls want to spend more time with him- including myself! His character changes depending on what’s happening around him, but he always tries his best no matter what the situation brings. I think he’s one of the most well developed INFP anime characters out there.
12. Yasutora Sado – Bleach
Yasurota, also known as Chad, is one of the most enigmatic people in Bleach. Half-Japanese and half Mexican, he is very loyal to those who show him kindness and respects honesty above all else. His honesty complements his well-known INFP personality type. Additionally, Yasurota has been ranked among the top 10 beautiful faces according to Latino standards – lo que significa que tiene buen gusto en la cara!
13. Donquixote Rosinante – One Piece
Cora-san is one of my favorite characters from One Piece. I love him so much. A character who will always stand out and leave an impression whenever he appears on screen – initially portrayed as cruel person who hates children, we later found out that Rosinante was very humble and kind; someone whom took care of everyone around him, even if it meant selflessly giving up what he loved most for them. We shall never forget you, Cora-san.
14. Komugi – Hunter x Hunter
Komugi is one of the most endearing characters in Hunter X Hunter, because she deserves every ounce of affection from her fans. The white-haired petite girl has a peculiar yet kindhearted personality that’s quite unique. And her heartwarming friendship with King Meruem during the Chimera Arc remains one of its defining moments even now.
15. Shiego Kageyama – Mob Psycho 100
Mob is a perfect example of an INFP anime character. He is ignorant, kind, and innocent but will still confront you when it comes down to it. In addition, he understands others well and has empathy for them, even those closest to him. Though everyone knows how powerful Mob is from the very start of the show, he never wants to rely on his superpowers all the time for accomplishing what needs accomplishing – often using different methods such as foresight or just some wit instead.
16. Shikamaru Nara – Naruto
Shikamaru is often regarded as the smartest character in all of Naruto. So how does he earn this title? It comes from his ability to defeat an immortal foe. No matter how lazy or childish he may seem, there’s always something under that surface which prove him worthy of such a title – even if it takes years before you are able to see it. And now that he has been blessed with the role as Hokage’s assistant, it seems like nothing less than fitting considering how much talent lies within those small specs of green hair.
17. Chiyuki – Death Parade
My favorite character from Death Parade is Chiyuki. She may seem shy at first but she proves herself to be a smart and outspoken woman who isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Even though she doesn’t always like what people have to say, she will listen intently before responding in an intelligent manner; something that I can relate to because I don’t either. It’s this aspect of hers which draws me closer towards her than any other character; we’re both logical thinkers who understand that actions speak louder than words.
18. Levy McGarden – Fairy Tail
Levy is an adorable girl who has the ability to always see the good in others. Her personality fills with cheerfulness and becomes more trusting after reading a book or spending time with her best friend. Levy loves being there for her friends when they need it most, even if she has to go out of her way to do so – never forgetting what happened when she was given support from someone else.
19. Kaidou Shun – The Disastrous Life of Saiki K
Kaidou is someone who lives in an imaginary world most of the time. His daily life consists mostly of escapism, but he’s always surrounded by those close to him – they care for him and never push him away even when he needs it most. Despite his appearance, Kaidou is quite introverted and shy because this comes naturally to him. It doesn’t matter if you’re male or female; all you need to do is show a little kindness and understanding before gaining access inside his heart.
20. Kenzo Tenma – Monster
This protagonist is from one of the greatest anime ever created, and this character also has INFP personality type. This character deeply cares for those around him, but he also believes that no life is worth more than another. People do not have to be influenced by others because they make their own decisions; what matters most to this character is upholding justice– standing up for what they believe in.
21. Miku Nakano – The Quintessential Quintuplets
Miku is a shy, introverted, and reserved individual who never likes talking about herself. For this reason, she becomes bitter at times which manifests itself in her pessimistic thoughts. But when Miku meets Fuutarou; it changes her life for the better. With time he teaches her to be more open and accepting of others. As a result, she finds out what type of person she really is; an INFP anime character without question.
22. Mitsuba Sousuke – Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun
Mitsuba had an aggressive, ill-tempered disposition. As soon as he arrived in the world of living from the afterlife, he became hostile towards those around him and refused to speak much with them–except when necessary–but would do anything for anyone who wanted his help; even if they were angry at him or never thanked him for what he did, Mitsuba took pleasure in doing good deeds without caring about anything else. Though this made it difficult for many people to interact with Mitsuba on a regular basis, they appreciated having such a person who was always there when they needed someone most.
23. Mitsuri Kanroji – Demon Slayer
Mitsuri is an INFP with a friendly demeanor and good morals. She’s sensitive enough to understand other people’s feelings without much effort, but also gentle enough not to judge them in the process. Best of all, Mitsuri doesn’t really need anyone else around when she slays demons – which is perfect considering she just likes doing it for everybody else anyways!
24. Hitohito Tadano – Komi-san Can’t Communicate
Though some may find Tadano to be rather uninteresting or forgettable, its protagonist possesses an almost inhuman telepathy that allows him to understand what is happening at all times. Mainly tasked with keeping Shoko happy and everyone else calm, his most important role in life would also have been maintaining harmony within himself which required a lot of responsibility for someone who isn’t even able to speak properly because he was born mute.
25. Tohru Honda – Fruits Basket
Tohru Honda had a habit of putting others’ needs before her own. She was an amalgamation of the Mediator and Defender personality types, with each influencing her everyday life in different ways; she would step forward on behalf of another individual, even if it meant going against those who threatened them – but she also looked out for people’s feelings first when it came to resolving issues. The character from Fruits Basket were grateful for Tohru helping them because she helped them find a way out of difficult situations.
26. Tamaki Amajiki – My Hero Academia
My young Tamaki has the best superhero name ever! Don’t you dare tell me that Suneater isn’t amazing. Tamaki is a very timid and introverted child who sometimes gets embarrassed, but he really is an exceptional human being. He cares deeply for others, he speaks with kindness, gentleness and compassion – all of which are qualities we should strive to have in ourselves. And if what my friends say about him is true then Tamaki shines brighter than the sun.
27. Aang – Avatar: The Last Airbender
It’s time we stopped declaring that Avatar is not an animated entertainment because it absolutely is. Even if its protagonist Aang, the avatar, may be a very competent fighter who has perfected his airbending skills – there’s no denying that he would rather cultivate peace than fight. He loves to help people and show them how they can share who they are with others. There can’t be any doubt now that he is most assuredly a mediator.
28. Katarina Claes – My Next Life as a Villain
Katarina may seem like a typical protagonist at first – one that can be classified under the ‘good’ side of things. But just because her name tags her as an ‘evil,’ doesn’t mean she’ll stay that way for long! In fact, she is simply nicknamed The Bakarina because of how much goodness she carries around with her always! With pure thoughts and intentions in mind, Katarina does everything in her power to make sure all those around her are happy – no matter what type of person they are. Because after all, if you’re having trouble – someone else probably is too.
29. Azusa Aizawa – I’ve Been Killing slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level)
She is the protagonist of one of the best anime series I’ve ever seen. There are no evil demons or haresms, and there aren’t any clichés either. This story follows a laid back girl who has spent her life attempting to break free from such things so she can live freely in this new world where she has been reborn as a witch. Although she isn’t much of a fighter–she prefers negotiating with others–she doesn’t hesitate to rush to someone’s aid when they need it most.
30. Rimuru Tempest – That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
In this fantasy story, there was no hero or villain as far as power went. There was just one person who always looked for solutions rather than fight – a man known as Rimuru Tempest King. Ever since he became friends with all of the slimes, his power has grown exponentially until nobody could compete against him. That’s why instead of destroying humans and fighting them when they attacked him first, he negotiated peace- an amazing feat never before seen in history!
31. Legoshi – Beastars
Legoshi is a kindhearted and optimistic wolf who only wants to see the good in others. He sometimes has problems with his confidence, which makes him shy and insecure when he isn’t feeling positive about himself – but that doesn’t stop him from trying his best. When Legoshi isn’t feeling confident, he tries not to think about being an animal who could prey on others because it worries him too much.
32. Shinji Ikari – Neon Genesis Evangelion
Shinji is an introverted, idealistic thinker whose compassionate nature compels him to pursue a path for the best possible outcome for others. His high sensitivity means that he needs plenty of alone time which can be hard when living with others, but through patience and practice, he learns how to balance these two opposites. Shinji’s humility protects him from his own tendency towards arrogance, while his fierce sense of justice fuels him with empathy for those in need – giving him the strength to help them without asking anything in return.
33. Gaara – Naruto
Gaara has shown a paradoxical mix of qualities which seem contradictory but are actually present in many INFPs. He has been told since he was young that his sole purpose is to kill others and thus became someone who lacks compassion or feelings towards anyone other than himself. He then learned from Naruto that this isn’t the way an individual should live, so Gaara opened up to those around him, resulting in a person with many different traits – some healthy and some unhealthy.
34. Fuutarou Uesugi – The Quintessential Quintuplets
Fuutarou might seem indifferent and emotionless at first glance, but he is actually someone who puts others before himself. Fuutarou can be seen making it his responsibility to keep the Nanako sisters happy in every situation no matter how farfetched it may seem to him. Despite not exhibiting these traits for the most part, Fuutarou has a strong sense of empathy which only makes him an even better person.
35. Takemichi Hanagaki – Tokyo Revengers
Despite his tough exterior, Takemichi is a kindhearted individual whose style of clothing contrasts sharply with that of Draken or Mikey. However, he has one job to do and will stop at nothing until it’s completed – returning to the past in order to make peace between those close to him and various groups in Tokyo before Hinata dies. In my opinion, this is indicative of an INFP personality type.
36. Naoya Nifuji – Wotakoi
Naoya embodies the very definition of an INFP. He has been described as someone who will stay up late making sure everyone is happy before he goes to bed. Known for his kind-hearted nature, social skills, and good looks – Naoya takes pleasure from cheering others up or just simply understanding them. His best friend Ko Sakuragi can always count on him for help anytime she needs it.
37. Hiyori Iki – Noragami
Hiyori is often more protagonist than Yato himself, and that is because she is always there for almost everyone in the anime. She helps them all – from discussing things to resolving conflicts between two people. It doesn’t matter if it’s her family or a stranger who needs something – she’ll find away to help them in any way possible. She knows how to read people well enough so that they won’t become discouraged even if they’re fighting against each other.
38. Takanashi Rikka – Love, Chunibyo and Other Delusions
A highly popular anime girl who went by the name of Rikka which means laughter. She liked to put on a show for those around her in order to hide her own identity, or rather shyness. A normal girl if anything, she had many friends and loved going on adventures. At first people would say that Rikka was just weird but after some time they found out what personality type she was actually hiding – INFJ.
39. Eri – My Hero Academia
Eri is the fateful motivator of one of the greatest shonen anime arcs of all times. Her safety must be guarded from harm, and though both Midoriya and Mirio saved her, she can’t thank them enough for risking their lives for someone like her. Though Eri’s hidden kindness may have been crushed under years of abuse at the hands of Overhaul- just deep down, there lies a person who yearns to live out an ordinary existence.
40. Rem – Death Note
Rem was anything but typical; she was an INFJ Shinigami. One of the things that most defined her character, was how devoted she was to Misa and would go so far as sacrificing herself for her sake. It showed just how much more important Misa’s happiness was than hers – something that didn’t bother Rem at all, since it meant being close to Misa all the time. Despite preferring her world over ours, if it meant being with Misa forever then there wasn’t a better place in either worlds where she felt so contented with every passing day.
41. Yamaguchi Tadashi – Haikyu!
Haikyuu is one of the most phenomenal sports anime series ever made. There are many different types of personalities, and Yamaguchi, who happens to be an INFP character with a shy personality and little aggression, makes for an interesting mystery. He’s just not one of the main characters so it becomes harder to pinpoint his type due to his low amount of screen time per episode.
42. Kaneki Ken – Tokyo Ghoul
Kaneki Ken is a wonderful INFP character. At the beginning of the anime, he was shown as someone who loved their solitude and preferred to live within their own world – but after everything they’ve been through, it seems clear now that this was just Kaneki’s way of trying to find peace from everything around them. Beneath his aggressive exterior lies someone who cares for others deeply enough to help those in need– even if it costs him everything.
43. Gohan – Dragon Ball Z
From a different point of view, Goku is disappointed because Gohan is an INFP, let’s be honest. It seems being an INFP prevents one from being skilled fighters; they only fight when it means there’s something important at stake – like the world. From what we know about Gohan- he doesn’t enjoy fighting but will do so when necessary- which makes sense given that he cares deeply for other people.
44. Juvia Lockser – Fairy Tail
Juvia starts off as someone who is difficult to understand. Early on it was apparent that she had an introverted personality – but not much else about her seemed predictable. At first, she appears cold and distant – though this changes when you learn about the extent of her obsession with Grey, which speaks volumes about her individuality. Juvia proves herself time and time again to be complex- which is fitting for an INFP (Introversion Intuition Feeling Perceiving).
45. Yugi Mutou – Yu-Gi-Oh!
Let us turn our attention to Yugi in this instance, for although Yami Yugi has a personality drastically different from his own, they are both alike in their kindness and open-mindedness. They both have a carefree sort of air about them that comes with being so young, but neither lacks the conviction to stand up for themselves or for those around them. Together they are able to express the softer side of an INFP personality which is often overlooked due to their introverted disposition.
46. Sawada Tsunayoshi – Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
Tsuna is a typical protagonist who has been seen as a loser at school but was later shown to be an extraordinary man. Despite disliking violence and aggression, Tsuna still cared deeply for the Mafia even though he often chose his personal values over theirs. He was always so down-to-earth too – which made him all the more special in my eyes.
47. Alphonse Elric – Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is one of the best anime series ever made; it’s close to perfection. Having Alphonse be one of the main characters was a great decision because he has such an interesting personality; while being introverted and overly idealistic, he isn’t at all shy. He will take on anything (literally) in order to save his friends or even just for world peace.
48. Hinata Hyuga – Naruto
A girl who was loved by all. Popular because of her kind and timid nature, Hinata is one the girls who are always there when you need them most. Beautiful yet cautious, she knows how to be there for people even if they are far away from home. She prefers solitude rather than social events, but that doesn’t make her any less awesome! Men would fight over this woman – or at least try too 😉
49. Kou Mabuchi – Ao Haru Ride
Kou is one of the best shōjo protagonists out there. His funny, yet kind personality always seems to shine through when he’s with friends or when he talks to himself- it’s just rarer for him to show this side of himself in public due to his past struggles. Still, Kou often displays sensitive characteristics that would be expected from someone who possesses an Introverted Intuitive Feeling (INFP) type, such as introspection and a disregard for social norms and expectations.
50. Atsushi Nakajima – Bungo Stray Dogs
A kind guy with a dark past. The first impression Atsushi makes is of someone who is very weird, or eccentric as some would say. This clashes against his genuinely caring personality that wants to help those around him in any way possible– even when it seems impossible at times. This desire for helping people stems from the fact that he himself knows what it feels like to suffer and be alone; something he experienced growing up until now with no friends whatsoever.
51. Chihiro Ogino – Spirited Away
A lot of people will tell you that Ghibli films are not anime, which is incorrect. Some might call one of the most amazing anime films out there – Spirited Away – a masterpiece. It features an INFP main character: Chirio. A young girl who gets pulled into another world and finds herself drowning in her own fears during her adventure in this new place, she still manages to find courage deep within herself just when it feels like things couldn’t possibly get any worse for her.
52. King – One Punch Man
To be honest, the world’s strongest man is probably an INFP. King is seemingly depicted as one of the most courageous heroes in One Punch Man but actually he is just a normal human being. Despite his fear and uncertainty – at least among some people – he still cares for others unconditionally and has warm spirit that resonates with those around him. This guy also happens to be a genius whose intelligence outshines others while playing video games; almost at God-level status!
53. Koji Koda – My Hero Academia
Koji Koda is probably one of the kindest characters you’ll ever see in Boku No Hero Academia. His shy nature and gentle behavior helps balance out what happens outside of school. Every time he steps foot on screen, you know that he’s a genuine person who has nothing but pure intentions. Introverted around others – it doesn’t mean that he lacks social skills or tactfulness. Not only is he considerate around his friends – but can actually understand animals too! Wow!
54. Junpei – Jujutsu Kaisen
A person who did not deserve to die…I apologize for giving away a spoiler. Even though Junpei is only a side character, he contributes quite a lot in the Jujutsu Kaisen story line. He has a kind and generous personality at first, but after seeing his tragic past and Mahito’s influence; he develops into an angrier and much more pessimistic person. The one thing that still remains with him is that he doesn’t want anyone else to suffer like him- so what if they are innocent bystanders?
55. Euphemia vi Britannia – Code Geass
Code Geass is the greatest anime series created. It’s magnificent while also telling a story that resonates with viewers because it doesn’t shy away from what it means to live through wars or experience immense power. Despite having great power, Euphemia never let go of her innocence and kindness – something to be admired in this day and age where so many people lose themselves in pursuit of success or materialism. She was a strong woman who never lost sight of what mattered most – despite being royalty with an INFP personality.
56. Mitsuha Miyamizu – Your Name
Your Name is an extremely well-made film, deserving of all its praise. Mitsuha, one of the characters from Your Name, has a personality type known as INFP; these individuals are caring and organized in nature, which often aids them in achieving their ideals. They also have a love for adventure, which can be seen through Mitsuha’s actions throughout the film.
57. Rinko Yamato – My Love Story
Rinko is one of the most innocent and dainty-looking characters in all of anime. She is so sweet, kind, gentle, sympathetic, and wholesome. Every time Takeo sees her she will do everything in her power to try and make him happy; something that makes you fall more deeply in love with her because no matter what anybody does for her or how anybody treats her – she can never stop trying to please them all. It’s such a beautiful trait about her – but it’s also incredibly dangerous because there are many people out there who would want to hurt someone like Rinko.
58. Tony Tony Chopper – One Piece
Everybody knows Chopper. This little guy has a big heart and an even bigger personality and all he wants to do is show others how much he cares about them. His caring nature does not end with people who are part of his crew, but to any and every person who needs him. You can find him running around helping out people in any way that he can – it doesn’t matter if they are friends or strangers; anyone will do!
59. Neji Hyuga – Naruto
Neji Hyuga is a perfect example of an INFP character. It becomes clear after only watching two episodes of Naruto that he prefers solitude or being around his team, and values his group as well as the other Konoha ninjas – even sacrificing himself for them during the Ten-Tails’ attack. He has already left behind some kind words in the form of a letter addressed to Tenten after her death which are fitting because they show how much she meant to him.
60. Armin Arlert – Attack on Titan
One thing you need to understand about being an INFP is that they are a rare personality type. And if you happen to find yourself in Attack on Titan’s world as one, then things are going to get complicated real fast. Armin has remained true to his core beliefs, even when he was captured by the military and transformed into an Armored Titan. In this situation, though? There was no way out but death – or at least until Levi came along.
