The Salman Khan starrer, Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai, released on Thursday, May 13 worldwide. In many countries, it made it to the cinemas. But in India, the makers went in for a hybrid release, that is, it was released in cinemas as well as on the pay-per-view platform, ZeePlex. But since cinemas are shut almost anywhere in the country, Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai ended up releasing on the big screen only in the state of Agartala. Even here, it had a release in just 3 theatres – 2 in Agartala (SSR Rupasi and Balaka Cinema) and one in Dharmanagar (SSR Dharmanagar). These 3 cinema halls ran 11 shows in a day with the last show held at 3:00 PM. This is because a night curfew is in place in Tripura which begins at 6:00 PM.
A trade expert reported to Bollywood Hungama that “Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai“ made an estimated Rs. 10,432 on its first day of release. It surged to an estimated Rs. 22,518 on Friday, followed by an approximated Rs. 13,485 and 13,485 on Saturday and Sunday respectively. In sum, the film collected an estimated Rs. 59,920 over the course of the weekend.
The expert informed Bollywood Hungama that, starting17th, the city of Agartala had gone under a lockdown. On this day, SSR Dharmanagar was playing Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai, showing four screenings per day. For the entire first week, it is estimated to have earned approximately Rs. 63,248; however, this figure should be taken as approximate. From Monday to Tuesday, it had accumulated Rs. 1,155, while on Wednesday and Thursday it brought in Rs. 509 each day.
The trade expert continues, “One needs to see these collections with regards to the situation on ground. Agartala is under lockdown and most areas in the state are turned into containment zones. There’s a lot of fear among people there with regards to visiting cinemas. Yet, a small but significant number turned up to watch the film and it’s a feat. Not to forget, Salman Khan had said on record that the box office of Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai in India would be zero.”
Today the end of Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai in SSR Dharmanagar. In other words, no theatre in India is currently running the movie. Satadeep Saha, CEO of SSR Cinemas Pvt Ltd, revealed to Bollywood Hungama that he is likely to resume showings of the film in his Agartala theatres once the lockdown restrictions in the capital are lifted.
