Understanding Image Conversion
Image conversion is the process of changing the image format from one file type to
another or converting from one image type which is then converted or stored into
another image type.

1. Jpg atau Jpeg (Joint Photographic Experts Group)
Jpg is an image format that is widely used for storing smaller-sized images and is
capable of displaying color up to 24 bytes, but this jpg format uses poor data

2. PNG (Portable Network Graphics)
PNG is an image/graphic storage format that uses a compression method so it
doesn’t really reduce the quality of the image.
3. PICT
PICT is the default Apple Macintosh file format available for graphics applications
running on a Macintosh platform. The PICT file type is the ability to
contain bitmap or vector-drawn objects. These files are indicated with the
extension. PICT (or Picture) files are a format commonly used in Mac operating
systems and layout processing applications and are used to transfer these
applications having a solid and wide color area. The PICT format is very effective
at compressing files that have a solid and wide area of color.
4. TIFF (Tagged Image File Format),
TIFF is a flexible image format, typically storing 16-bits per color – red, green and
blue for a total of 48-bits – or 8-bits per color – red, green and blue for a total of
24-bits. The TIFF format is capable of handling special color space sets, such as
those defined by certain CMYKs.
5. Graphics Interchange Format (GIF)
GIF is the most frequently used graphic format for website design purposes. GIF
has fewer color combinations than JPEG, but is capable of saving graphics with a
transparent background or in the form of simple animations
