With Diablo 4 Season 3 just around the corner, before jumping into this dark adventure with new characters, here’s what you need to do to help you get off to a better start in Season 3!
While some players are hoping to jump into Season 3 as soon as Diablo 4 releases, others may want to lay some groundwork to make their next play through as smooth as possible.
Although you need to start a new character in Diablo 4 Season 3, you’ll still be able to feel the benefits of completing certain actions when you start the game again.
For example, the things you unlock by playing the story and in Seasons 1 and 2 will help you in Seasons 3, even though you’ll be starting a new character. This will greatly increase your efficiency in farming Diablo 4 Gold and XP in the new season.
Overview
Below, we’ll tell you what to do to prepare for Season 3 and why everything matters. Remember, the list below is completely optional, so don’t beat yourself up if you miss something.
If you are just starting your Diablo 4 journey, you should start Season 3 immediately. However, if you are already halfway through Season 2, or the characters are not seasonal, our advice is to go ahead and start Season 3 after beating the story, so you don’t have to do it twice. Because once you complete a campaign, you can skip it.
Also, please note that Season 3 is not a story expansion or DLC, it’s just another fun way to play the game. Therefore, we recommend you do the following before entering the new season.
Select Character Class
Although this is obvious, it is important. Do you want to play the game using the same classes used in previous games? If so, please note that when Season 3 ends, the character will revert to his normal, non-seasonal character.
Therefore, it makes sense to choose a new character class for Season 3 and see what they have to offer.
If you want to try new builds of existing classes, you can always re-specify them. We recommend using Seasons of Diablo 4 as an opportunity to try out new classes each time. Because taking advantage of each season’s Diablo 4 unique items and gimmicks will help keep the game fresh and diverse.
Also, always remember that you can skip the campaign in seasonal content and jump straight to the endgame. However, that’s only if you complete Diablo 4’s story at least once, either in seasonal or non-seasonal play.
Don’t forget, we have a range of top builds. You can choose to use any character class for the best results, whether in leveling, endgame, or even PVP.
Complete The Campaign
While you can choose to play the story again in Season 3, if you want to jump straight to new content, you’re better off skipping it the second time around.
Of course, you still need to build your character from scratch. But seasonal content will let you progress quickly, especially if you take advantage of World Tier increases and Seasonal Journey steps.
So if you’ve already played the campaign, feel free to skip it. And completing the campaign before Diablo 4 Season 3 starts ensures you have the skip option ready.
While some players will want to replay the campaign during Season 3 and see how it goes, it’s nice to have a skip option if you need to.
Also, don’t forget, Diablo 4’s campaign is epic. Presumably you also want to complete the story and see the ending before Season 3 starts.
How To Get A Mount?
A good Mount will make your life in Diablo 4 Season 3 much easier, allowing you to travel across the map quickly. To get a horse, you either need to complete the entire campaign, or skip it altogether and choose to buy Diablo 4 Items and spend on a horse from the start.
This is a great way to get started on Season 3. Of course, you need to complete a campaign first.
Find All Altars Of Lilith
The good news is that seasonal characters in Diablo 4 will receive the benefits of each Altars of Lilith unlocked by previous or non-seasonal characters.
When you find all 160 Altars of Lilith, each character will receive the following statistics by default:
- 68 Strength
- 68 Intelligence
- 68 Willpower
- 68 Dexterity
- 100 Murmuring Obols capacity
- 4 Paragon Points
This will save time building your character each time and let you jump straight into Diablo 4’s seasonal content and start hacking!
Of course, finding and activating each Altars of Lilith takes a while, but you only have to do it once as the rewards will apply to all of your characters.
Unlock Maps And Renown
It’s worth exploring the entire map before jumping into Diablo 4 Season 3. This is because you only need to do it once and all characters thereafter will start the game with the entire map unlocked. However, if this is your first time playing the game, don’t worry and just enjoy the game.
If you unlock a map with one character in Season 3 and start another, you will need to unlock certain waypoints again. But once you activate a character, most waypoints will be ready. Some will be locked behind Strongholds again, and each character will reset.
While this will make life a lot easier, the major benefit is that all the Renown you’ve earned from exploring the entire map will also be retained. This means it will give you a nice boost at the start of each new game.
In fact, if you skip the campaign, find all Altars of Lilith, and unlock the entire map, you’ll start Season 3 with a total of 3135 Renown from the very beginning. This also includes the 10 level-up points at the beginning. This is crazy!
Legendary Aspects
Finally, it’s important to note that any Legendary Aspects you unlocked in pre-Season 3 games will not be retained. The game will encourage you to find them and complete various dungeons and bosses again.
So, to ensure that when you start Season 3, you can go directly to the best location to unlock the aspects you need, note the dungeons and aspects that will be most useful to your builds.
If you’ve unlocked the entire map, you’ll be able to see where they are from the start and know which ones are worth prioritizing.
These are the 6 things I think you need to do before entering Season 3. Follow this guide to make your seasonal journey into the new season that much easier. Looking forward to seeing you in the game!
