The Alia Bhatt-starring Gangubai Kathiawadi that was released sometime ago has done exceptionally well in the Box Office after an exceptional opening. It grew extensively over its first few weeks because people were going to see it regardless of pandemic protocol; much like it did for its 2nd weekend where people still went to watch the movie even though there wasn’t a need for them to do so anymore.
After just ten days of being in theatres the film crossed over Rs. 100 crores earning Rs. 102.60 crores in thirteen days of release Gangubai Kathiawadi has become the first film of 2022 to reach this milestone and what is even more surprising is that despite newer films entering, the movie continued to pick up momentum – making theatrical performances so lucrative it was expected they would also continue to grow quickly at least until every seat was filled because now, when a theatre can be occupied full time there are no limits on how much money a movie can make!
Currently, Gangubai Kathiawadi continues to impress audiences as their first choice in theaters. However with the Prabhas starrer Radhe Shyam set to release this Friday followed by Akshay Kumar’s Bachchhan Paandey next week it remains uncertain whether the Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi will manage to maintain its lead at the box office due to these recent additions of popular films. Given that there isn’t any other movie out until next month, trade predictions are rather optimistic for its earnings so far.
