Last Friday, the long–awaited sequel to 2014’s Ek Villain, the Mohit Suri-directed Ek Villain Returns, was released in cinemas. Boasting a star–studded cast of Arjun Kapoor, John Abraham, Disha Patani, and Tara Sutaria, the film made a modest opening, collecting Rs. 7.05 cr. Encouragingly, on its second day, the box–office collections increased to Rs. 7.47 cr, and on its third day, a further Rs. 9.02 cr was added to the coffers.

Despite being a dubbed Hindi version, Ek Villain Returns ranks eighth among the highest opening weekend grossers, leaving behind other releases such as Heropanti 2 with a total of Rs. 16 cr, Radhe Shyam gathering Rs. 13.94 cr and Runway 34, which was at Rs. 13 cr.
At present, Ek Villain Returns is still running in cinemas and is predicted to experience more expansion in its profits. Although it is predicted that the movie will see a decline in earnings on its opening Monday, industry speculations remain hopeful, signifying a continuous amount of progress in the course of its inaugural week.
